Nicolay Valuev has EARNED his title shot vs Wlad because #1 He has a title #2 He has experience (vs very weak opposition) #3 If Valuev fights Wlad and loses he's relegated to fighting with the REAL heavyweights and if he was to win he earns a match with Vitali...those are both acceptable outcomes.

Ruslan Chagaev has EARNED a shot, #1 he has held a title/holds a title #2 He's unbeaten (vs lesser opposition) and #3 He was done wrong by Don King.

Others deserving of a title shot Alexander Dimitrenko, Eddie Chambers, Cris Arreola...those guys are in the queue waiting for a shot, why should Haye get a chance before those battle tested heavyweights

If you're looking for someone just on short notice, you might get some crap fighters but hell it gives Wlad a chance to play Santa Claus and give out an undeserved title shot that David Haye isn't ready for. If David Haye is truly deserving of a title shot he'll earn one very soon, I would think if Wlad moves forward with the June 20th fight then a David Haye-Cris Arreola/Alex Povetkin elimination bout will be scheduled and I am 100% sure that would be good for boxing regardless of the outcome.
All those guys are surely boring as you like, Haye gets a title shot because he cam make money and he's exciting for the publicity aswell as the fight. Nothing different happening here than what is happening with Marquez getting a shot at Mayweather or hatton getting a shot at Mayweather rather than someone like mosely or clottey or williams getting a much more deserved shot. Too much double standard going on these days i'm sorry.

What ever makes money, flies....... Theres a lot of talk about Haye in this forum lately, has anyone really debated that much about Mr Alexander Povetkin or Mr Ruslan Chagaev. No. I think what Haye is doing is good stuff man. Creates interest and excitement where there wasn't any and generates debate where things were flat. Can't knock the guy really.
Being exciting doesn't mean you deserve a title shot against Vlad. And Haye isn't even the most exciting heavyweight out there. That belongs to Cris Arreola. The most exciting and controversial heavyweight out there.

There has been more talk and criticism about him than David Haye (see - how can a man with big breasts continue to win big heavyweight fights?). He also has fought three or four legit heavyweights.

Cris Arreola v. David Haye at the Staples Center. That's a heayvweight scrap that won't go the distance. Then, if David Haye passes the test, he has more of a claim for a fight with Vlad. Here's saying he won't .
