All this "if Pac wants to fight a welter" stuff ignores the simple fact that Pac is not chasing Mosley its the other way around. Mosley said he wanted a fight and a catchweight is fine. Everybody constantly talks about why should Mosley compromise his advantage by agreeing to a catchweight, why should Pacqauio give Mosley all the advantages by going up to welter? Hell Mosley's fought well at 154 ffs, Pacqauio's never fought above 142. This is silly.

Not to mention Pacquaio's got tons of options, he doesn't really need Mosley.

Exactly Skel, people take a fight with ODLH wherever they can get it, JMM would have jumped on that fight too if he had a chance.

Both fighters should meet inbetween like 144.
Ergo why there's a catchweight! People keep saying keep the fight fair and fight at 147 in Shane's weightclass. How is that fair to Pac? He's at 140. I keep saying this over and over again 144-145 is the fairest.

Personally, I think fuck the catchweight, the fight should happen at 147. If Pac wants to fight a Welter, he should do so at Welter. Catchweight fights aren't good for boxing, we have enough damn weightclasses to accomodate people as it is.
Look at the other side of this statement: If Mosley wants to fight a juniorwelter, he should do so at junior welter. Pac is P4P #1, so it's Mosley chasing the fight. Pacquiao is the one that has to debate who to fight cause everyone wants to fight him.

    hate catchweight fights too

If the challenger wants to fight the champ then he has to meet him at his weight.

Pavlik-Hopkins should in theory have been scheduled as a huge world title showdown

instead it was just classified as a "170pound contest" something you would find in your local boxing club
Pacquiao is P4P #1 and AND holds THE RING Championship. Mosley has an alphabet title. No Ring belt up for grabs if he fights for Shane's title.

Just continuing on a point I made earlier. Pac has to choose from Cotto (if he wins next week), Mosley, the winner of Mayweather vs Marquez, Valero, and now Katsidis who are all openly seeking a fight with Pacquiao. Mosley is just trying to choose between who he wants to chase further, Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Again, why does Manny have to keep moving up in weight to fight people? He was a junior lightweight last year!! If people want to fight him since he's on the top of the boxing world, they have to accomodate to him. His opponents don't have to agree to anything, THEY want the fight, not the other way around.

He's already fought Barrera x2, Morales x3, Marquez x2, De La Hoya, Hatton, and he's looking to fight Cotto, Mosley, Mayweather, and Marquez again. Yet people are still trying to question his and his team's mindset. Who in boxing besides Shane are looking to fight the best like that?!

Exactly. I know I'm biased towards Pacquaio but this debate has gone off the rails IMO. Totally one sided.
