It should be fun seeing Margarito back in the ring. He will only make that Welterweight division stronger.

Margarito was one of my fave current fighters and all time faves as well; but fook him now. Either he's stupid from taking too many punches and didn't think to make sure Capetillo was doing him right with the gloves, or he's a liar. Either way I will vehemently root against him. Pendejo caca head

I can't wait to see the reaction the crowd gives him; he will not be popular me thinks. He needs to ride in the arena in a bullet proof golf cart or face getting bombed with spit balls made from plaster from the crowd

He's going to come back and make a ton of money. He'll be given a tuneup he can't lose and then get a Cotto rematch. There's just too much potential money to be made there for that fight not to happen. It'll get massive publicity, a lot of it about how boxing is so sleazy that this guy can be allowed to fight again etc., but publicity is publicity and the rematch is a surefire big money PPV fight, thus it'll happen.

He could easily fight somewhere in Mexico in a comeback fight. The crowd wont be bad at all, may even cheer for him I bet. He will win the fight pretty impressively, people will cheer, he gets a title shot, most people turn a cheek to it and the reception wont be nearly as bad.

    Just my thoughts

Caught with Plaster like substance in JANUARY OF 09. It's now June and the ban is already over?

BS, if the punishment is a year, make it a year.

Yea, like you and Spicoli have already suggested, somehow the math just isn't working out for me. Not sending much of a message to the boxing world about how serious cheating and defaming the sport is. I guess not too serious.

If they allow him back, they should make him the first boxer to wear "see-through" gloves!

Better yet walk him through a "plaster detector" or place him under "handwrap supervision" for the remainder of his career.

Got to come up with something... any of that sort, to eliminate the lingering cloud of doubt, left in the wake of his dishonest and unprofessional practice.

By the way, has he apologized to those concerned thoroughly? Or has he written...
"I'm sorry for being dishonest, to have seriously endangered the lives and limbs my fellow boxers for my corrupt boxing ways, and I a pledge to refrain from repeating these same offenses in my undertaking as a professional boxer, in the immediate future"

100 x as a form of "extreme punishment". LOL. Maybe just "Sorry" 1000x on the blackboard!

Sorry fella's I see it as a pathetic display of governance, should they allow him back. This could be a minority opinion, nevertheless, it has to be brought out. Boxing should be wary of this...

Personally, I think the guys ruined. The mental edge is gone and almost any game fighter can use that bit of doubt hanging in Margaritos mind and snowball it to a win over 10-12 rounds. With the exception of Cotto, because lets face it... the uppercut just cant miss Cotto.... oh and Judah... Zab's hes got his own set of problems.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

He cheated end of the day he has had his hands wrapped for years he knows his hands were wrapped in plaster he should have been banned longer he could have killed sombody. I hope he gets froze out of the world title picture for abit we will never know now if his wins over Cintron and Cotto werent aided by these plaster coated hand wraps i was a big fan of Margarito but it really gutted me when this came out im not sure if i will be a fan now.

Yeah. And his performances against the Sebastian Lujan and Daniel Santos come in to question as well. I too was a big fan and was always excited to see Margarito fight because of his relentlessness and ability to take a punch.

The handwrap issue is a huge disappointment for me and I don't how anyone can allow him to make money off a sport he has no respect for.
