John Ruiz would be a step from Barrett to be honest
Maybe. But he's American and there heavyweights are heartless. Get Haye with a European.
Evander Holyfield's an American Heavyweight, he's hardly heartless, it appears that Haye's the heartless one, the biggest fight of his life and he hurt his back jerking it, then has the audacity to say it happened shadow boxing

Hating on American fighters doesn't make Haye any better.

Say what you will about any American fighter but I think there are more than a few who could give Haye a run for his money and they would be guys that everyone would call bums...I think Tony Thompson would have a good shot at beating Haye because he's big, he has good defense, he has a solid chin, he is active in the ring, and he has a good jab, and also I am not sure if David can pace himself to go 10 rounds, he has only gone 7 rounds or more 3 times and ALL of those are at cruiserweight.

Listen for you and all of the "David Haye is the best ever" maniacs...there is a reason that cruiserweights are cruiserweights and not heavyweights or light heavyweights....either they are too big for 175, too small for heavyweight, or they want an easy route to the top of a division. The majority of cruiserweights fight at that weight class because they know they can't hang with the heavyweights....not even the below average heavyweights.

I think David Haye will lose at least once before he gets a fight with either Klitschko....and it won't be vs one of the good fighters at heavyweight either.

honestly he should take on Ruiz, and that's about a 50/50 fight , never thought i'd be saying someone should be fighting John Ruiz, and i'd actually willingly would watch the fight lol

With Ruiz you're going to have to be strong to handle all the grappling the guy does in the ring, his chin is decent, only KO'd once by David Tua so a KO of Ruiz WOULD mean something. I think Haye would have trouble with him especially if they used a smaller ring where he wouldn't have far to run because Haye seems to me to be a pot shotting heavyweight, a guy who likes to throw a punch and then get the hell out of dodge.

I think Tony Thompson would be very dangerous for him too, he's huge 6'6 250, he's got good defense, a great chin, and a very good jab...he'd let Haye keep distance but he'd score with that jab while Haye was out there. TT is a guy I never thought much of until I saw him fight Wlad, he may not have a big heart as in that fight it seemed his corner was urging him to keep going, but he did very well vs Wladimir and Wlad had to chop him down over a long period of time....if he fought Haye and was in decent shape, he'd give Haye hell.

I'd also put in anyone who has a solid chin that can hang with a banger for 8 or so rounds would have a chance vs Haye ESPECIALLY if they chase him around the ring and tire out his legs.

No disrespect to Haye, but it's not going to be smooth sailing for him, he has (with his antics) put a target on his back that EVERYONE is going to be shooting at....here's hoping Haye is good enough to back up his talk.

I don't actually disagree, Haye's vulnerable, he could beat just about anybody but could lose to them too. But I still think he may be the biggest threat to Wlad, definitely more so than some short dude trying to outbox (survive) him.

Wladimir's biggest threat could be Chagaev or Dimitrenko. Dimitrenko is trained by Fritz Sdunek and he knows Wlad's game inside and out and Dimitrenko is a big fella too 6'6-6'7....fast hands, decent power, throws to the body well, but his defense isn't all that great.

Chagaev is small, but that might help him if he's able to get inside....remember he's beaten Valuev who was WAAAAAAAY bigger albeit slower, less powerful, and all in all less skilled than Wladimir.

At LEAST I would like to see how Haye would do against a good boxer with Wladimir's stature...what is going to happen if Haye is stuck on the outside OR getting countered like crazy for only trying to land 1 wild punch at a time.

All I know is that Manny Steward didn't seem bothered by David Haye at all....

If he tries to get inside, I don't know if he'll fight him that way though. He may choose the Sultan route, fight him kind of like he fought the caveman. Anyway he's looked sloppy lately. Haye has good size, very fast hands and good power. Chagaev might go the distance while Haye probably wouldn't in a loss but he has a much better chance of winning than Chagaev IMO.

I can't say I know enough about Dimitrenko to comment. The little I've seen I was far from blown away although that wasn't anything that recent.

Don't even mention Tony "Toy Tiger" Thompson. Thompson is the worst out them all. Thompson is a heartless coward who blatantly blew his big chance by plodding round the ring all night before falling arse over tit in round 11.

And the fact you guys are relying on Evander Holyfield to put US heavyweight boxing on the map who is only fighting to pay off debts anyways at this stage of his career is beyond laughable. Hasim Rahman is a biitch. Austin is that good he got beat Klitchsko with one hand . Fat ass Arreola spends his training camp burger tasting at the local McDonalds. And Eddie Chambers is only fast to beat.

Step aside the USA. It's Hayemaker time!

lefty....seriously I DO question David Haye's ability to beat Evander Holyfield.

Haye has been past the 7th round 4 times...none of those times vs a heavyweight. None with extra weight on him, none while taking heavier punches, none while getting leaned on by a guy a good 20 pounds bigger than him, and of course I am going to question him, because why the hell should I have faith in a guy who hasn't even had a meaningful heavyweight fight yet

I might as well have faith in Butterbean winning a title

yea sounds about right, but even with the Klitschko's retired i still don't think Haye would even get past Ruiz
