Desire Washington had previously accused a high school athlete of rape.

She went to Tyson's hotel room, sometime around 2 to 3 a.m.

When she arrived, she admittedly removed her panty liner in the bathroom

After they were done having sex/rape, Desire asked Mike to walk her down stairs to her limo. Mike refused, and they got into an argument.

She then waits over 24 hours before she calls 911.

The case was ultimately assigned to a judge who was a former rape prosecutor.

The judge made numerous questionable decisions during the trial which went against Tyson.

For instance, he would not allow three witnesses from the pageant testify, who observed Washington and Tyson making out earlier that night. His rulings were based on legal technicalities.

Desire Washington testified at the criminal trial, that this was not about money, and that she would not bring a civil suit against Tyson. Immediately after the criminal trial , she filed a civil suit.


The bottom line is that the case came down to credibility: his word against hers. And apparently, the beauty queen made a better witness then the fighter.

Good summary & in addition to her being a better witness, it sounds like she might be a good liar too.

I don't believe he did it. He has remained resolute over the years that he was wronged. 3 years in jail on what basis exactly? He has every right to be bitter.
