The one good thing if ESPN take over the Premiership football package Setanta have is that they'll show their library of classic fights to fill in all the empty hours of programming, all their documentaries etc. We might even get Friday Night Fights as well, they're also friendly with GBP etc. But whether they'll do deals with people like GBP and Top Rank to show their shows like Setanta did is another question.

Sky used to pick up the US fights (not featuring Brits) they've shown over the years for buttons, there was no competition when it came to bidding till Setanta came along. Setanta offered a few quid more to take them away from Sky. If ESPN don't compete for the rights to show boxing events then Sky can go back to paying buttons again and hopefully will, or maybe ESPN want to show boxing and do what Setanta did. So long as somebody shows the fights, the worst possible scenario is they both say bollocks to boxing and neither cover it. But fingers crossed somebody will or we're left with dodgy streams on the interweb.
