How serious can the injury be if it is only delaying the fight 4 weeks?? Wlad went out of his way to fight Haye and Haye blew it. What a chump...Wlad is now fighting for the Ring Belt, he has alot more to gain from this fight than waiting for Haye to injure his pinky and pull out of the July fight.....

After all that talk about how Wlad would be an easy fight, Haye bails.......What a complete FOOL.....

And as soon as you bring that up someone will say something about Setanta..."It's about money! Haye wasn't going to get paid!"...So I guess after David Haye "coasted to victory" vs Wladimir Klitschko, I guess nobody would care about the heavyweight champion of the world and he wouldn't get any money ever again

David Haye has acted like a little punk

    Very true Lyle.

Any real fighter would have fought for free.

...it makes as much sense as anything else about David Haye's career. I wasn't aware that ONLY Setanta was paying him, so he wasn't going to get ANY of the gate Oh well, I guess he didn't have as much leverage in negotiations as he wanted, and I thought that surely a KO win over Monte Barrett would be big enough to where David could name his price and Wlad would accept the deal.

You can't talk that much shit and pull out like Haye did...very poor form

The fact Haye was getting fuck all compared to the Klits just shows how badly he wanted the fight.

You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think ANY fighter in the world, at this level, would step in the ring without getting paid.

When you talked as much smack as Haye about how it was going to be easy picking KO'ing Wlad and this was going to be the easiest fight of your career and being totally disrespectful for Wlad (the recognized number 1 heavyweight) and what he has done he CANT pull out of the fight without looking like a total BONEHEAD!!!

If you want to talk about money lets see: Lets say Haye would have fought Wlad for free this fight and KO'd Klit (a given in Haye's mind). He would have made more money in his next two fights than he will now fighting five fights. Without Wlad and his recognized number one ranking Haye is nobody. Now Haye has to take a HUGE risk and fight some contenders like Arreola for small money to work his way up to Klit (and risk a loss). In my mind Haye made a huge financial mistake if that is the reason he pulled out.

Wlad is a true champ, willing to fight anyone and everyone. Haye goes down with the chicken pox so Wlad lines up a fighter with a totally different style, ranked in the top ten and says - Lets do it....Wlad may not have the most exciting style but the guy will fight anyone and everyone......

Talking smack gets attention and SELLS fights. Why do you think a 60,000 seat stadium was chosen for this fight? They sold all the tickets on the bridle.

You can't be seriously suggesting Haye should have fought for free? Unreal. If thats the case, why does any challenger get paid? They should accept any fight on the chance they will reap the rewards after winning.

What if Haye loses to Wlad? He'll be in a worse situation than he is now.

Where was that stadium again Was it Stanford Bridge? Old Trafford?...No? Well I thought for sure it would have been either IN England or an all English crowd

Yeah trash talk can sell fights, but usually that works best when the trash talk is followed up by a FIGHT and not a bunch of excuses on why David Haye can't fight all of a sudden. Didn't Carl Froch trash Calzaghe? Did that help him??

What IF Haye loses to Wladimir...Haye just got put out of commission by his own fucking shaddow and/or an economic event out of his control, so all that aside I don't believe Haye had any chance in hell of winning vs Wladimir or even making it interesting....I for one would have been surprised if Haye lasted to the middle rounds.

Maybe, and this is just a guess here, but maybe Haye was getting "fuck all" to fight Wladimir because of his record as an established heavyweight? Maybe his record as a whole? Maybe because he has never fought a Prime quality fighter? Maybe because there are questions remaining about his skill and his ACTUAL fan support.

There have been a few others saying this too, I don't get it personally.

Well quite simply they are complete thickos.

Actually, that's a bit unfair, most are probably just naive fans that view boxing through rose-tinted glasses.
