I think Diaz might have a little trouble with speed and movement off the opening bell, but eventually he'll swarm and pressure his way to a close or split decision over little mac...err... Malignaggi. This will kind of be like the hatton fight only with head movement. In the end, Malignaggi will still have to get in a taxi to get away from his opponent.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

What I don't quite understand is going up in weight to fight Paulie Malignaggi, why go up in weight to fight a non-entity?

Would this really be seen as that big a win for Diaz? I don't think so. I have no doubt he'll handle Paulie.

Who elese does he have to fight Ouma already failed at the top of his division so there really no other fighter besides Pauli right now. Think he plans to move up so this is a fight to test the waters the come Ortiz or maybe he while go after Bradley but is testing with Pauli first. I dont think he can go much higher though Cotto, Mosley and Margarito are to big.

He failed at the top of his division versus an all time great and a much more experienced guy who won't last long at the top, there is no reason for him to leave 135, he could easily take that division over at some point. There's Funeka, Prescott, maybe even Khan although I guess maybe Khan is moving up for good. There's also Valero, Anthony Peterson. No need to leave 135 as it seems pretty clear from looking at him he's not killing himself to make the weight and its not like 140 is a gold mine, its a pretty barren division outside of Pac who really doesn't have a weight class, he's not gonna all of a sudden decide to clean out the top 10 at 140.

Hell I forgot Nate moved up so there's really no point to leave 135.

Maybe this is just a one off and he'll move back down to 135. Kind of a pointless one off though. I'd give him more credit for beating Funeka, Valero, Anthony Peterson, than Paulie. Probably not Prescott who is wildly overrated by some IMO. And Paulie could make it an ugly fight, another negative.

I don't really care to be honest, just a slightly strange decision IMO.

D oes seem like a one off considering it'll be at a catch weight. Probably just wants a safe fight against the least threatening puncher in boxing.

Probably so, I guess they think little risk fair amount of reward since Paulie's got a noticeable name but just because we all know his name does that mean we think he's that good, I don't know, Fenster goes on and on about his silky skills, winning personality and great smile, but I don't see it personally.

This fight will be a confidence builder for Diaz. Completely one-sided.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
