what made marciano great was his blood and guts approach his never say die mentality. there are many fighters who were more talented than him but not as great as him.

Agreed - what made Marciano an all time great was the fact that actually he did not have a lot of natural talent (apart from a huge punch). He was small, he had short arms, he was uncoordiinated, he put fat on too easily, he had a bad back, he got cut up.

Marciano succeeded through strength of character, not skimming by on natural talent!!
