Boxing Beginners, How long to have an advantage?

well make sure he learns the basics of boxing, i had a similar situation. boxed with some friends in my garage

i worked off the jab and got his nose to bleed a little, so i won. his friend would probably try and throw most, if not only, big hits. so he should work on his reflexes and reaction time, then going in and countering. he'll have the advantage probably by 3-4 weeks, since he'll be able to read the big punches, but nothin fancy, just basics and he could definitely kick that kids ass.
