I played for team Ontario at the Canadian championships in '92 (honest to God)
I pitched in the sport for many years.
As someone said, it would help you hit underhand. I can come from below with a half-wind-up like a fast-pitch pitcher probably better than anyone in my gym even though I'm a newb. If you do it incorrectly though you'll ruin (hyperextend) your elbow. But much like a true bolo it doesn't carry much weight...just velocity and snap...a half-decent body shot.
