Lost so much respect for this rising prospect after the way he gave up.

I think you are being harsh. This was always going to be a tough fight but maybe he was not quite ready for it. Reminds me of Vargas

"Ferocious" Fernando Vargas fought multiple world champion and hall of famer Tito Trinidad for 11 rounds until he could no longer fight or get up to his feet.

"Vicious" Victor Ortiz fought a crude power punching contender and quit in the sixth round.

Aside from the nicknames and fighting out of Oxnard, I don't see much resemblence there.

I never saw the fight, but If it was as grueling as it sounds, I have no issue with him with calling it a day if he did not have any more in him.

He is young and still on a learning curve, he deserves another chance. Why take a beating for nothing? It sucks when they go out like that, but he might do a complete 180 with more maturity and experience.

He'll get another heart test down the line and then we will see where he stands. Everyone deserves 1 pass IMO.
