You could always be a torturer, wiring people's genitalia to car batteries?

I thought about doing this last year when I finished uni, you should 'declare your interest', as this means they give you info about the job & what entails. They will then get you take a test (well they got me to) showing your aptitude. I did this in a Navy test, and I got the Royal Marines, which I thought maybe indicated that I'm some kind of merciless killer

The training is tough, although my boxing gave me a headstart fitness wise, however in the end I just kind of thought I don't really want to go kill people in Iraq who've done nothing to me. The reason I was interested was not because of needing a job or I was bored, more that I felt quite strongly about the War of Terror & felt that I should go to Iraq or Afghanistan to understand it better. Then I sobered up

Can't speak to the Royal Marines, but as an infantryman I can't stress enough that it is not simply a job change but if you are to be successful its a complete lifestyle change. Military life forms you to its mold. If you can't learn to live within the mold your time of service will not be enjoyable. All that aside even a Royal Marine could talk till he was blue in the face, w/o going through the experience you won't really understand what it entails.

Believe me dude I can understand how you feel.

I had an application form for the Irish Rangers when I was 18, but the parents begged me to finish college first.
    Its tempting me again!

im glad someones on my level. its the physical and mental side that i want to challenge myself with. and the comoradary that comes with it all, plus u get to see the world do things that people could only dream of doing. ok u may have to go to war at some point, but if it turns out that life isnt for me, u can leave after three years and if ur really desperate u can buy yourself out.

    Oh I can relate completely.
Applying your life's focus on attaining your optimum level of physicality...
How could a sportsman not thirst for that?!

At the same time you have to consider your wife.
    Would it kill your relationship?
I know personally it'd pose difficulties for me with my daughter.
