He's arguably the most recognisable. I mean Jesus, the apostle Paul, Ceaser, Cleopatra, Moses, the Buddha would all be better known in terms of people having heard of them but none of us would recognise any of them if they came and sat next to us. (yes I know they are dead but you get my drift)

Everyone also missed off the Queen, I'm sure she's pretty recognisable, along with Nelson Mandela.

I highly doubt Jack the Ripper is top 10, he's probably famous throughout the UK, US and Australia but not sure he will be well known outside English based places, will those from Gabon or Honduras know who he is? I doubt it but they will probably know the Queen ~(if she is wearing her crown) and Mandela, and Jackson of course.
