Well here is more details. There are other networks that will be involved with it, thus making it more likely that they can pull this off.

And if everything gets finalized, the press conference is said to be on July 13th.

I have no belief this tournament will happen. I like the idea and the hype move but too many things have to go right. Even single fights have too many things that have to happen because of the business side of boxing. Then we get to think about the boxing side. This sparks up interest and good conversation but I can't see it at all happening. Though I like Showtimes desire, unlike HBO, to bring us what boxing needs.

It's a beautiful idea. Half a dozen promoters, assorted managers and half a dozen TV companies have been negotiating this (for two or three months at least) and this is the first we get to hear about it? That's almost as impressive as the tournament itself. I'd love it all to pan out all the way to a definitive final fight but I just don't see this whole thing going smoothly.
