We horribly disagree on this one, Game. HBO has been pushing Berto's agenda since Day One. Never mind how terrible he's looked in recent fights. (Once HBO puts its stamp on you, you're golden.)

Mosley is light-years ahead of Berto skillwise, and would blow the doors off the Berto bandwagon for all of his disappointed fans to see. It would be downright embarassing.
How is Mosley light years ahead of Berto skillwise? He has worse technique, doesn't throw combinations as well, his defense isn't any better, and he loads up on shots the same way. THe one big difference, possibly why Mosley will win is his durability, and Berto being to eager to throw down.

I said before I saw Berto beating Mosley, and I am sticking to it, I could definitely see Shane win, but I have a feeling Berto is just too fast, throws the right type of punches, and Mosley is really predictable.
With all due respect... ARE YOU ON DRUGS?!? Mosley has worse technique than Berto? Doesn't throw combinations as well? I usually disagree with you anyway, so this doesn't surprise me. You're talking an ATG here... a future Hall of Famer. Berto is an HBO project, wet behind the ears, with an awful showing against an Urango he should have totally dominated. You're comparing apples and oranges here. To quote the hated Larry Holmes (by me, anyway)... Berto isn't fit to carry Mosley's jock.

Yeah he doesn't think that highly of Shane. I would say check his threads but its a waste of time to read a bunch of bullshit coming from someone that is as biased against mosley as pacfans are for pac. Every time Mosley comes up, he takes several shots at him then tries to cover up the disliking with a half assed prop for mosley. I.E. everything thats in red..And if you really read it carefully you'll see that basically the only chance shane has in beating berto is, if berto decides to lose by mixing it up with shane. Because shane according to him isn't that good of a fighter.

kinda hard for me to pick. i like both fighters but i think berto edges a decision. Berto is fast, has good power, and can box good when he wants to. im not counting shane out but i think berto wins.

I'm a fan of both fighters, & would probably root for Berto as he could become a new star for boxing, however there is NO WAY in hell that Mosley has worse technique, the guy is a future HoFer & one of the best fighters of the decade. I would say that NOW Berto might have a slight edge in speed, but Mosley in his prime would annihalate Berto. Give the man his due, as you so constantly ask people to do for the fighters you like.

So Jake Lamotta, Henry Armstrong, Sandy Saddler were all masters of technique? Being an ATG doesn't make you tactician, and Mosley is a brawler, but he just happens to be in a very athletic body.

Berto is cut from the same mould, but with less durability. That being said Berto has a jab, he throws good combinations, he has the technique, but like Mosley he has the bad habit of winging shots, and both of them are way too easy to hit given their athletic gifts.

I'm not saying Berto is a better fighter than Mosley, but name the things that Mosley does technically well? I am not comparing Berto to younger Mosley who had great combinations, countered much better than he does now. Mosley now is just a guy with great athletic gifts and who loads up on hooks. He's probably the best athlete I've seen who isn't natural in the ring, and who doesn't have good timing.

As for Berto-Urango, he didn't look great, but he did dominate that fight, he won every round with relative ease.

With their two past opponents you can't really compare the two
Berto did better against David Estrada, and actually stopped him, but he way worse against Collazo, IMO COllazo was a different fighter both nights, one night he broke his hands(against Mosley) and he wasn't throwing anything with conviction which made it easy for Mosley to look good, Also that night Collazo was trying to be a pure boxer, whereas against Berto he was trying to throw a ton of punches. In the times Collazo fought like he did against MOsley(from the outside) Berto was beating him in a similar fashion, and we have no idea how Mosley would have done if Collazo had healthy hands and if Collazo would have thrown more punches, and would have worked on the inside.

Mosley is a good fighter, there is no disputing that, but being a HOF'er doesn't make you a technical wiz, and he isn't one. His jab sucks, his cross sucks, he used to throw combinations, but now he just loads up on hooks, and he's always been way too easy to hit.

At least I see Berto rolling punches, he has a good cross, a good jab, a great uppercut, he throws good combinations, and he does things like throwing 4-5 left hooks in a row. Definitely when he gets into exchanges he looks terrible technically, but Berto on the outside is technically superior to Mosley, he has more weapons on the outside.

I still think its a toss up fight, but I am going with Berto, just like many of you went with Cotto over MOsley(I thought MOsley was going to win), I just don't see Mosley being good enough on the outside.

Glad to see Mosley is finally deciding to quit waiting on the little Pac chicken. I'm not impressed with Berto at all, a fairly motivated Mosley should beat him quite handily.
