    THIS WEEK IN ACTION

    Friday 19 June 2009

Adrian Diaconu representing THE DEVIL DOG’S
    Vs
    Jean Pascal representing THE WELSHDEVIL’S

RESULT: Jean Pascal W12 Adrain Diaconu
(Jean Pascal earns THE WELSHDEVIL'S $3,000/ Adrian Diaconu loses THE DEVIL DOG'S $3,000)

‘The Devil Dogs Diaconu lost a unanimous decision to The Welshdevil's Jean Pascal by scores of 115-112, 116-112, 116-111. Pascal scored a knockdown in the 5th round over a back peddling Diaconu. The Romanian-born Diaconu had trouble catching up with the fleet footed Pascal and was rarely allowed more than one shot at a time. Pascal put in an incredible effort on the inside against the strong Diaconu.’
    _

Troy Ross(no stable) W10 Michael Simms

Cruiserweight Troy Ross fighting for the first time since his Contender triumph took care of business with a 98-91, 99-90, 99-90 victory of Michael Simms. Ross was able to outslug the bigger Simms on the inside and outbox on the outside, delivering fluid hard shots throughout that never let his opponent get going.

    Saturday 20 June 2009

FOR THE VACANT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD

Wladimir Klitschko representing THE VIOLENT SQUAD
    Vs
Ruslan Chagaev representing MAKING YOU SEE STARS

RESULT: Wladimir Klitschko KO10 Ruslan Chagaev
(Wladimir Klitschko earns THE VIOLENT SQUAD $9,000/ Ruslan Chagaev loses MAKING YOU SEE STARS $9,000)

‘The Violent Squads Wladimir Klitschko scored a dominant tenth round TKO over Making You See Stars' previously unbeaten Ruslan Chagaev. Klitschko dropped Chagaev with a huge right hand in round two.Klitschko continued to inflict damage as the rounds progressed. Klitschko rocked Chagaev in round nine. The bout was stopped by Chagaev’s corner after the ninth round.'
    _

Hugo Garay representing THE DEVIL DOG’S L12 Gabriel Campillo

    Loses THE DEVIL DOG’S $2,000

In a stunner The Devil Dogs’ Hugo Garay was defeated by Gabriel Campillo by majority decision. Garay came out very strong for the first six rounds. It appeared that it was Campillo’s strategy to tire Garay out and it seemed to work. From round seven on Campillo became the aggressor snapping Garay’s head back on several occasions. Garay showed heart but tired down the stretch. In the end, the judges had it 115-114 and 114-113 for Campillo and 114-114.
    _

Edgar Sosa(no stable) KO5 Carlos Melo

Edgar Sosa stopped Carlos Melo of Panama at 2.47 of the fifth round. Sosa attacked Melo from the opening bell and effectively cut off the ring, forcing the Panamanian trade. In the fifth a vicious hook to the liver had Melo crumbling to the mat. He gallantly beat the count but a barrage of punches from Sosa forced the ref to put an end to the bout.’
    _

Luis Collazo(no stable) KO6 David Gogichaishvili

In his first bout since his narrow defeat to Andre Berto in January of this year, Collazo easily handled journeyman David Gogichaishvili. Collazo put Gogichaishvili down twice in the bout. Gogichaishvili also received two standing eight counts. The referee stopped the bout in round six after consulting with the ringside physician.’
