Those close to Gatti crushed by news of his death
Well last night as a true fan after watching the Darchinyan Agbeko travesty I put on Gatti vs Dorin one of my favorites and then the Rodriguez fight.
You will be sadly missed Arturo!!!
Damn, that poor kid is going to have some real psychological issues to deal with as he gets older.![]()
Well I hope Donald Trump and and company (like Gatti's promoter) send a personal hit squad on this bitch. The saviour of AC IMO.
Maybe she used a friggin ice pick cuz the police says there's not a lot of blood in the crime scene. Just like Joe Pesci in the movie Goodfellas when he stabbed someone in the back of the head.
Some say boxing is too serious now, and lacks the characters it once had.....
Well Gatti may not go down as one of the great ones, but he made boxing fun for me, and his battles with Ward and in particular (to me) Robinson will live on in my mind.
Unlike many today, he had personality in the ring, and stayed honest to it. Boxing is the toughest game in the world, but I always finished watching a Gatti fight with a smile on my face.

"Boxing is like jazz. The better it is, the less people appreciate it."

SHOCK. This is horrible
WTF!!THIS WIFE KILLED HIM,LOOKS THAT WAY DOES'NT IT.Such a shame,Gatti had Heart and Desire by the tonne loads!
Awesome wars he had.
RIP LEGEND GATTI,IM GUTTED*
R.I.P. Arturo Gatti
May the person responsible for his death Rot in Hell!!!
I found it hard to sleep last night after hearing this just before I got into bed.
Still shocked. First fight I saw of him was Wilson Rodriguez fight and I just thought - wow. Tried to catch every fight after that if possible. Was never the greatest fighter but is third on my all time favourite fighters list for sure after Ali and Benn.
I would have loved to see him fight in the flesh though was kind of glad a fight with Hatton never arose because I would have been in Gatti's corner for that one.
Not sure who said it in The Ring, maybe Jack Ryan, but they summed his career up by saying a few years ago (as best I can remember) "Arturo Gatti may not be one of the greats but he is a fighter who will guarantee you have underpaid for your ticket, even if ringside, every time he steps into the ring".
I had considered making the IBHOF trip for his (undoubted) inaugration in 3 years time as it would have coincided with my 40th birthday - two days after Gatti's would have been.
I like to play as Gatti in Fight Night but don't think I am going to be able to do so just yet
Legend
RIP Arturo - I doubt boxing will ever see your kind again.
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
I'm sick about this. Down to my core. What the f#@$? I can't even write about it.
I missed this when I was online yesterday, but what horrible news so soon after Arguello died as well.
True warrior, always gave everything when he stepped through the ropes, even when he was outmatched and victory was unlikely. Never dull, never a quitter.
RIP.
