I missed this when I was online yesterday, but what horrible news so soon after Arguello died as well.
True warrior, always gave everything when he stepped through the ropes, even when he was outmatched and victory was unlikely. Never dull, never a quitter.
RIP.
Been on my stag do all weekend and only just logged on and heard the tragic news. Gatti wasnt the most gifted fighter in terms of skill but man he had one of the biggest hearts in boxing.
RIP Arturo Thunder Gatti you will be missed by all thanks for the memories!!

I called Gatti names like "Leatherface" and "Tinman of Oz" on a regular basis. I also stated that Gatti, James Toney and Sam Peter would make an outstanding commentating crew.
Still, when I heard of the tragedy I was saddened. Despite all my jabbing, I understood that Gatti was a soldier who would unseat my teeth should I dare to challenge him.
What a heartbreaking end to the story of Arturo "Thunder" Gatti.![]()
