Showtime to do SMW tournament with Abraham/Kessler/Froch/Taylor/Ward/Dirrell?

Of course, many things could go wrong, but assuming that Showtime pulls it off...who is your pick to leave the tournament as the winner?

Mikkel Kessler - Entering as the Favorite
Carl Froch - At this level, does he have the skills?
Arthur Abraham - Too small?
Jermain Taylor - Over-the-Hill?
Andre Dirrell - Underdog
Andre Ward - Sleeper pick?

First Round:

Carl Froch v. Andre Dirrell - Carl's to lose.
Jermain Taylor v. Arthur Abraham - Good first match at this weight for AA.
Mikkel Kessler v. Andre Ward - Best match-up of the first round, maybe of the tournament

Kessler is my pick. He is the most rounded out of the 6. Some have faster hands, some more power, but as a complete package, he's the best.

I'd pick Abraham to meet Kessler in the final. I would love Froch to do well, but he need to tighten up his defence to have a chance.

I'm going for Abraham. I wouldn't mind seeing Abraham vs Froch in the final, or maybe Abraham Vs Kessler.

Id like to see Froch win for Britain but if I had to pick a second favourite it would be Abraham. At super middle he will be more effective and have more in the tank than he did at middle.

There's no chance of this comp happening as planned, but anyway..

Kessler is the obvious favourite but i'll take a poke on Abraham. The step up in weight might help him, he has the power to do damage to some of these, starting with Taylor.

I Think he is out. That german promoter bought him out of his old contract. That is what showtime was waiting for, before announcing the tournament.

It is hard to pick against Kessler. However, I think the two Andre's are unknown quantities.


The only think I am sure of is that Taylor and Froch will probably do the worst. But who knows, I am just glad they are doing this. Good job showtime.

Personally, I reckon Kessler is the strongest of this bunch, though it is a very strong sextuplet. Kessler's straight down the middle style is going to cause trouble to everyone.

Froch got slightly lucky stopping Taylor so late, I think they're both fairly even. There's a lot of variables in there, but it's certainly the sort of appetite-whetter this division's been crying out for.

In the vid, Abraham looks to be the most reserved of the group, though that may be as he speaks the least English. Really looking forward to this one, might trip up to Nottingham for Froch's first.
