The US legal system is built on litigation. If Tyson paid $$$ to the woman he was convicted of raping & didn't go to jail, people would have used it as evidence of his guilt. I don't believe that MJ did anything with Gavin Arvizo, that woman was clearly out for money. However, the people around him clearly advised him to pay the family of Jordan Chandler the exact figure they demanded, meaning there surely must have been something they wanted to keep out of court.
