Exactly JMM fought Chris John in Indonesia for a bag of Hamburgers... 1 mil is surely worth a few months of someones time

Not to mention you dicks jumped on Floyd for fighting JMM instead of Pac, now your all defenders of Marquez... Holy shat your a bunch of nutters

LOL I don't know if people for the most part are defending JMM so much as just taking note (again) that whenever Floyd opens his mouth something stupid comes out of it.

And I suspect JMM would rather take the 3 or 4 million for fighting. I'm sure he's less dismissive of his chances than you two are.

Not if they promise him another fight for a million or so.. a winnable one too like Pac (should he lose) after the Floyd fight.. or maybe GB can convince Hatton to get sparked out again

Maybe you're right though. If a champion travels abroad to fight for $30,000 he's probably not gonna give a shit about facing someone for $3-4 million.

Well, let me say that I've given this very little thought and am chuckling while posting because it seems totally unrealistic. Its just Floyd talking, Floyd's good at fighting, talking err not so much.

They would have to give him Hatton I would think. For a couple million. I would turn off my phones if I was Ricky but meh money's money. This by the way is not to infer that I think this has substance.

And IMO all this assumes to some extent that JMM is cashing himself out. At least a little. And yes I know that all these guys are fighting for money but that doesn't mean that he doesn't think he can beat Floyd or isn't interested in doing it partly for his legacy.

Come on Ouma, when has a fighter like Marquez ever talked about "legacy".. he's a proper fighter, and like all proper fighters is searching for his best money option and is willing to fight anyone (apart from Naz back in the day, when finally offered the chance ).

I don't know what he talks about. I don't keep up.

I agree with you for the most part that money drives everything but these guys do care about their legacies, you don't think beating a guy like Mayweather would be special to him even after he finished rolling around on his bed of money? Athletes in general care to some extent about their legacies, why would boxers be different? I care about my legacy and I haven't accomplished anything.

I'm not going to take the Naz bait. That sounds a bit too much like the Calzaghe-Hopkins negotiation debate, I don't want any part of anything like that, creepy.

No bait it's the truth. He turned down a career high payday which obviously contradicts what i said about him.. anyway forget that, I believe Marquez would fight anyone if the price was right (just not Naz for some reason ).

I believe boxers are different when it comes to legacy. Do you think Marquez would still choose to fight Floyd if he was offered the same amount of money to rematch Diaz? Or Hatton? Or someone he could beat?

How can you defend Floyd? The fight was signed, Marquez who has worked fucking hard to get where he is at is expected to just fuck off with a payout because Floyd ain't the draw he thinks he is?

I really think people are placing a bit too much importance on this comment. I don't think it was a serious invitation for Pacquiao, more intended as 'I'm not ducking anybody' kind of comment. He goes on after that about how he rates Marquez as a better fighter than Pac, so I really don't think he's planning to shaft JMM.

If we didn't make too much out of things here and there we'd have nothing to talk about. Its better than Bilbo talking about how dinosaurs are really dragons or some shit.

It doesn't surprise me to hear he said JMM was better, its good hyping of the fight (whether or not he believes it) which is why talking about skipping over JMM was a bit of a dumb moment.

He may well believe it, a fairly sizeable number of people do. I just think some people want this to be some rosetta stone of proof that Floyd needs Pac, when in reality its a pretty dumb comment probably blurted out as he got all worked up when someone asked him a question about Pac

I completely agree with you. People are running with this comment like PBF is new to them. We all know PBF runs his mouth and with running your mouth you often blab and say whatever is at the top of your head. Besides, JMM would have to accept the step aside money if the Pac fight were to happen and if he did that then that means he was satisfied. Plus, lets keep it real. We all would rather see the PBF/Pac fight.

Floyd needs to cut to the chase and just re retire.I think its eating him alive that Manny....or anyone.....has just past him by and is the new shot caller riding the headlines. Its an insult but not a suprise at all...it was all geared towards a Mayweather/Pac fight in the first place.Floyd has to realize that he is not driving the car.Floyd does not put azzes in the seats!!

So I guess the fight might get cancelled again huh? Maybe they're gonna cancel it for good this time cuz they're still having poor ticket sale.

That is his choice, if he wants to step aside for a mil than so be it.. JMM holds the cards on this one, thats why I shake my head at you guys for giving Floyd shit. He is contractually obligated to fight Marquez and offering him quite a pay day to step aside or To F#CK Off (using your words)

You can say all the shit you want.. Floyd is a draw and the numbers prove it.
