    Benny Kid Paret
    Davey S Moore
These two fighters died within 12 months and boxing was almost banned because of it, songs were written about both of them.

Any fighter who has lost his life in the ring is a tragedy and has paid the ultimate price, people may argue about the brutality of the sport and boxing should be banned, i say humans don't fare to well crashing into a brick wall at Indianapolis at 300 MPH either! How many motor racing deaths have there been? Hundreds!!
There are many dangerous sports being played at a professional level, American football is dangerous, (you have 300lb giants crashing into you every week) Get hit by a baseball or cricket ball at close to 100mph and see how it feels !
All sports have tragedies, boxing because of the nature of the sport and it's deliberate attempt to hit the other guy draws more attention to it. The best motor racing driver of the past 30 years Ayrton Senna died traveling at close to 300 mph, he had no chance. I still have visions of the Greg Moore crash.
So many tragedies occur after boxing as we have seen this past month with the untimely deaths of Arguello and Gatti.
Watching the once great Muhammad Ali is painful and sad, listening to Joe Frazier on Friday night fights last year was equally painful as i watched Smokin' Joe slur his words and was almost inaudible.
Here in OZ former Featherweight champ Johnny Famechon was hit by a car and is now in a wheelchair, nobody could land a glove on him but he didn't see the car coming! Wilfred Benitez is a sad story, the Mickey Walker story, there are sadly many, many more.
