Even if the Prescott fight sold it's not gonna happen.

Warren has got Khan to beat a legend and become "world" champion within a year of that defeat.

He's done a great job of quickly eradicating the Prescott defeat to the general punter.

I'm saddened that nobody found my Klitschko joke funny.

Maybe it was a bit rubbish after all.

That's a bit harsh considering Khan dominated Kotelnik from start to finish. Even if you think Maidana beat Kotelnik it was very close.

Agree the Maidina fight wont happen though.
Yeah, but I'd back Maidana to beat Khan. At some point he's going to get through with a big right hand. I think he'd hit Khan about as many times as Kotelnik managed but he'd hit him a lot harder. Khan's santioning fee is probably 20 times more than Maidana's so I'm sure the WBA will find a way for Khan to keep his title and not have to fight Maidana.

Hatton looks like he isn't going to fight again from what he's quoted as saying today, so it looks like a 140 pound Erik Morales next. That'll make everyone on the board happy.

& keep the gravy train rolling along a'la Audley Harrison.
Compared to JCC Junior Khan is being fast tracked. Never mind, at some point sooner rather than later he's going to have to face a puncher and you'll get another good laugh.

I think he fights Dimitry Salitas next. An undefeated fighter but doesn't have great power, plus I remember reading that Salitas was upset that Khan got a title shot when he was the #1 WBA contender.

Shouldnt Khan have a mandatory to face? If he really wants to become the great or the legend he dreams of then he cant go face some questionable opponant now. I really think he needs to go chase another of the Lightwelter champs. I dont care about his chin or his experience, if he wants these things he has to fight for them. He cant get them tiptoeing around now hes got a belt round his waist and expect us to be impressed.

At least it will sell on PPV.

Khan could "easily" outbox Maidana, but i agree he'd do well to get through twelve with a genuine big puncher. Like you say they're not gonna go for that fight anyway.

That's it, it's all about the PPV and in particular (at the moment) Sky Box office. When he lost to Prescott Warren thought, that's it, he's just signed a big contract and to get my money back now I'm going to have to put him in PPV-worthy fights he can win. There's no way with his chin able to go at any time that they'll put him in with high-risk no-reward guys like Maidana or Salitas. And after Hatton buggered off to HBO PPV land and Khan expected to do the same if he keeps winning Warren is going to make sure that while Khan is tied to him, he gets a chunk of that money. So the best possible fight for Khan now that Hatton is looking like retiring is a big name that's light-punching at 140 who's past it but will make Khan look good on his American debut and hopefully lead to PPV matchups over there in the future. So Erik Morales next and after that they call JCC Senior out of retirement so Khan can go for a hat trick of Mexican legends.

I think Salita is pretty ordinary who has no power, but he is a no name in reality to Sky, but i just read he is the mandatory wtf is it with the WBA?? They have about 35 champions .

I thought Khan was the regular champion and maidana was the interim champion. So surely the WBA should at least sort out who the actual champion is before they go ordering mandatories.
