Gatti did very well in the first round against mayweather until the stupid ref said something to distract gatti and floyd hit him with two cheap shots and knocked him down. Floyd was holding gatti's head down with his forearm, gatti was expecting the ref to break them up, the ref yells something unintelligible at the fighters, mayweathers takes his forearm off the back of gatti's kneck and lets him up, gatti looks at the ref to see what if he is going to break them up, floyd throws a couple cheap shots while gattti was looking at the ref to see what the hell the ref was going to do about the illegal tactics. Gatti was not the same for the rest of the fight and a stupid ref wrecked another potentially good fight. There was a major speed difference but gatti was doing very good defensively in the first round until the ref screwed things up.

How did Floyd hit him with cheap shots? The ref hadn't said to stop punching so he did what he's supposed to which is hit his opponent. That's Gatti's fault for not protecting himself at all times, if something unintelligible is said why assume it's break. Are you seriously suggesting Gatti would have won but for that? He was so outclassed it was ridiculous, Gatti was getting caught flush well before that, if you think Gatti could have outboxed him you must either really hate Floyd or have some kind of mental impairment
