Well I know Sergio, so I guess you can say that I get some inside information.

Plus he came out last week on FNF stating that he wasn't going away, and that lawyers are involved.

Also, right around the time of the Cotto/Clottey fight, Arum proclaimed that he will have an "issue" straightened out in order to make a fight for Pavlik, probably within a week. Well it's been over a month, and that "issue" is still there.

I know a lot of people don't like the fight, but Sergio has wanted to fight Pavlik since they were at the Olympic Trials together, and I would love to see him get his chance. I think his style would give Pavlik fits actually.
I agree that Mora could give Pavlik some problems with his slick style, and like I said I have no problem with Mora. My problem with the fight is that it's to be done as a PPV and the contrast of styles do not figure to make for an exciting fight even if it might wind up being close. I think Arum will find a way to get out of it. Maybe some step aside money for Sergio with the promise that he gets the next shot, something like that.
Well I agree that it should not be a PPV fight, but that was Arum's doing, not Sergio's, and I'm sure he could care less if it was, as long as it happens.

And it would have be some BIG step aside money that Arum would have to put up, and I'm not sure he's willing to do that.

Well, Diane, I know Sergio is a friend of yours so you want him to get his chance, but I don't think I'm alone in saying this fight does nothing at all for me. I wouldn't pay $10 to see it on PPV, and I don't see it being very entertaining. Sergio has a chance, but he'll have to turn it into a stinker to pull it off and I have no interest in watching that.

Supposedly, neither HBO nor Showtime were interested in buying the fight. So it basically got put on PPV by virtue of lack of interest.
