Can Ricky Hatton salvage his career ?

After that deveastating loss to Pacquiao can Ricky Hatton salvage anything from his career ? I think if he decides to carry on and Juan Diaz beats Paulie (which I think he will) then I think that match could happen for the Hitman. A win over Diaz would get him a little credibility back.

I dont think he deserves to be treated like he has been after the defeat to Manny imo.

When Khan moved up to 140 everyone was saying it was to get a Hatton fight eventually. I thought no way he wants to risk losing against another Brit and definitely not against Warren, he can make the same money fighting somebody like JMM and if he loses it's not like losing to Khan, history showing Khan was the better fighter.

I thought he'd lose on points to Pacman and then maybe fight a tomato can then fight JMM, but after he got splattered I thought well maybe Khan is the biggest money fight left, he'll grab it. But then I read an interview with GBP's matchmaker that makes me think that if he does fight again it'll be JMM. It's an easy fight to make if JMM loses to Floyd and it'll sell in Britain almost as well as a Khan fight would. If Hatton loses he hasn't got to go through the rest of his life knowing (and the british public knowing) a guy from up the road beat him and that he only lost to guys with a legitimate pound for pound claim. So I think if he does fight again it'll be JMM.

Hatton has had a great career, no shame in retiring now while he still has his wits about him. He's made plenty of money and been in some very exciting fights.

I think Ricky has to beat someone up pretty convincingly before a big money fight can be made with Khan as long as Khan keeps winning and Ricky makes good showings or wins against big names like a matchup with Witter, Holt or even Campbell and a better matchup against an undefeated Bradly would really stir things up. If Campbell were to get by Bradley why not entice Campbell to fight in the UK?

I don't know; it's only been what, a month since the fight? I think the pride thing might be what's messing with him. Of course it's just speculation, but that loss to Pac had to of crushed him. I think he came to terms with the Floyd loss pretty well. I mean he did ok in that one considering his style, and after initially having to deal with that loss, and feeling that air of invincibility ripped out from under him, he tried to refocus and did alright.

But that loss to Pacman may have done irreparable damage to his "pride". He might be thoroughly embarassed; who knows but him. Losing to Foyd, the consensus p4p best, at 147....ok cool. But losing that 140 Crown he wore and thought he owned exclusively? In that fashion? I'd be surprised if he won a fight now against anything more than journeymen. He won't change his gameplan, and the 1st sign of trouble he might fold. I love Rcky but I don't want to see it happen. Just speculation but we'll see I guess.

Cool article lefty, not sure if he was interviewed after the hospital visit or before.

It was nice that he was only full of praise for Amir's win, Witter aside Ricky has never been one to take shots at domestic fighters and is always quick to big up everybody.

Even his opponents (Floyd aside) he was very respectful and courteous towards.
