I believe Nigel Benn beat Doug Dewitt and Robbie Simms at 160 as well.

And Iran Barkely is a MUCH bigger man than Tito Trinidad.

    He had straight punches too.

And was knocked down 3 times and stopped in one round.

Think these hypotheticals get a bit blurred.Couple of weeks ago it was Toney vs. Holyfield at cruiserweight.......Have to take into account the tremendous difference in experience of each guy at the moment in time. The hypo is really loaded in one direction

Benn was a what?2,3 year pro at middle and Tito by the time he reached 160 had a decade + under his belt. And although he smashed Joppy,I still say he was not a middleweight and had done nothing else there. Also maturity as a fighter,Benn at 160 was in his pure destruct and come forward days but would go on to add some nice boxing and patients down the stretch......perhaps learned best from punching himself out vs. Watson and Eubanks in the first go.

Going against that,I still say Benn is to strong and while both fighters...especially Tito, were dropped and stunned very early in fights...more often than not they both got up.I think Tito gets put on his heels and it gets to be an inside fight,Titos left hook would be dangerous but when its close and they exchange. If Jr. Welts drop Tito...Benn keeps him on the floor.

Dewitt and Simms?? You gotta be from England. I was laughing so hard when I saw those names my belly popped through my throught onto the floor. They were more journeymen than fringe contenders here in the USA. As Holmes might say "Robbie Simms can't carry his brother's jockstrap." His brother being Marvin Hagler.

    He's not from England lol

Dewitt was a good win, he'd gone the distance with McCrory & Hearns and Benn stopped him convincingly.
Loved the Barkley fight - again an excellent win
Eubank (2nd fight) another big win, even if the judges cheated him

Benn definitely had his limitations, but he was genuine world class and a match for any of the 90s MWs and SWs (P.S I said 'a match' not that he would beat)

Yes he did, although I remember he was fortunate to get the decision.

    I am from California, USA.

And I resent the implication that I am from England.

And Simms was a lil bit better than what you are giving him credit for.

I would too. Insults don't come much worse than that.

Didn't Anthony Logan put Benn on his ass? What's that got to do with anything?

For the record Logan did not put Benn down, he wobbled him.
