The contracts haven't been signed yet, they announced the fight, because both sides had agreed to the terms, weight, money, date, site, etc., but I guess the belt issue is now coming up before they sign.
So there's still achance this could all fall apart. That's reassuring.
    Yep.

the thing is they want Cotto to give everything up, weight, title, and purse percentage, although Manny is the bigger draw, Cotto is still the champion, he's gotta give up the weight and money, then they have the balls to actually want him to put the title up for grabs also? fuck that, good thing to just throw the title in the garbage can like Bowe did, difference though is that Cotto isn't scared to take on Pacquiao, unlike Bowe who clearly avoided Lewis

    I agree with that

I duno why the welterweight title is on the line if the fighters arent allowed to weigh in at the welterweight limit. Should Pac win will he defend the title at its redefined limit?

I doubt he will,he just wants to be the only fighter ever to win a world title in 7 weights. He wont fight for the belt at the proper weight so he isnt gonna defend it at 147 if he wins.

If he wins this it will be 5 wont it even though its not at the welterweight limit ?

The legit world title belts he has won have been

    WBC flyweight title
    IBF super bantamweight title
    WBC super featherweight title
    WBC lightweight title

At 126 he was lucky to escape with a draw when he challenged for the titles against Juan Manuel Marquez and Hatton didnt have a title at 140.

I didnt realise he was fighting at 147 either
