Bowe v Holyfield was his best showing, and he was a talented fighter at his best but that Evander ruined his career.

I just think he peaked in the 1st Hoyfield fight and was never the same after that. He didn't train properly and put on loads of weight between fights, he was a different fighter in their 2nd fight.

On his best night (i,e v Holyfield I) I think he could've beaten most Heavyweights in history!

Tillery asked for that beating cuz he kicked Bowe. Riddick always had a temper as weve seen with Gonzales. Im surprised it didnt kick off with Hide given their mental states pre fight.

It kicked off with Golota during the fight but by then Bowe was washed up. Good right uppercut, left jab and as Ice said he worked well on the inside but his peaked lasted for 1 night vs Evander the 1st time. After that he never looked that good again.

Many people don't know about his struggles against Tony Tubbs, Tyrell Biggs, and this was in his prime before the weight problems. He was clearly outboxed by a shot Tony Tubbs, and got a gift decision. And he was getting totally thrown off by Tyrell Biggs's jab. And was badly stunned in the 3rd round until he caught up to Tyrell Biggs's weak chin.

Riddick Bowe is overrated he looked good against Evander Holyfield, because Evander Holyfield was too small and didn't have the power to really hurt him. And he fought the totally wrong fight similar to SRL vs Roberto Duran 1.

In the 2nd fight he outboxed Riddick Bowe in a closish fight, and the 3rd fight Evander Holyfield looked like a mess. And he was about 50 percent in that fight, thats when he went through a bad patch, also looking sluggish against Michael Moorer.

Riddick Bowe was well managed he took on fighters, who couldn't really punch or who were on the slide. And he was made to look pretty mediocre when fighters fought him on the outside Evander Holyfield 2, Tony Tubbs, Tyrell Biggs, Andrew Golota x2.

I agree he was talented and he had some very good inside fighting skills, but he gets far too overrated for that 1 good win over Evander Holyfield. When infact Evander Holyfield fought the totally wrong fight, brawling with a fighter who outweighed him by 2 stone.

Yeah but they are boxers not kick boxers and so Tillery got what he deserved IMO. You just dont do that. If someone hits you after the bell you hit them back. You dont start kicking . Tillery shamed himself doing that cuz it got Bowe angry and he knocked him out of the ring.

We used to let him keep this poster of himself with a poem printed on it he wrote real early in his career...he compared himself to Ali...

So one day he was being a tool and there was an MMA fighter in the gym working on his standup game.....Tillery was talking shit to him.....the MMA fighter did not reply....

So Tillery kept talking shit talking shit and the MMA fighter just kept shadow boxing waiting to do mit work....So by now Tillery thought the MMA guy was scared to death of him....the MMA guy turns around to see Tillery pointing and laughing at him with a bunch of local losers that follow him around.....

So the MMA fighter smiles and opens the ropes making a motion for Tillery to come in and go a few rounds boxing and on the ground....Tillery would have none of it but kept running at the mouth getting furious the MMA fighter would not answer him.....

The MMA fighter as Tillery found out could not hear a word he said and just kept smiling and motioning Tillery to get in the ring and by now the MMA fighter was asking his people what the problem was...he genuinly just wanted to workout with someone and thought Tillery by the was he was dressed and acted was still an active fighter......So the MMA fighter btryiong to make friends goes over to Tillery and hands him one of his Tshirts!!!!

Now Tillery was off the hook ready for his head to exp-lode...he runs downstairs rips his poster out of the window comes back in the gym and shows the MMA fighter the poster with his pic and poem....The fighter reads the poem looks at the pic and asks his trainer to ask Tillery who was in the pic and who wrote the poem......Elijah just about shit and seen everyone laughing their asses off storms out of the gym with his poster cursing everyone out telling us we will never have his poster in our window again......

I guess Elijah doesnt watch MMA?....Or he would have known the fighter was deaf
