Jozy Altidore will be on loan to Hull this season...I hope he picks the flow of the game up fast!

Aquilani is coming to Liverpool...I am cautiously optimistic, he is very talented, but seems to be injured quite a bit

If we kept the same team with Alonso we could have won the league. I think we may have blown it. Aquilani is injured already and will not play until October.

Luckily United are going to be weaker (imo) without Ronaldo and Tevez so it might not matter too much. Arsenal are weaker. Chelsea have pretty much stayed the same, Everton haven't strengthened, Villa have but have also been weakened. I think it will be out of Chelsea, Liverpool and United to be honest. I hope we challenege somewhere near though.

Lescott has had his transfer request rejected. Talking about tranfer requests, my mate told me John Terry tried to hand one in at Chelsea only to be told it would be rejected so they told him to go away and think about it. Despite all the 'i was never going to leave bullshit' we were pretty close to getting him.

£20m for Lescott is daylight robbery.

John Terry is a waste of money too considering his age. He certainly negotiated a fat contract for himself, the greedy git.

Man U just don't look that scary too me Rooney has got to add some goals and I'm sure he will. Valencia needs to be good. Their back four's still good though.

A bit off topic but since I've started following the premier league I've decided that English sports fans are much more critical of players for being "greedy" than American fans are. I think we've just accepted it after a while, not like there isn't some outrage about it but not as much I don't think. If I was a player I would want to make as much money as I could while I was playing so I wouldn't have to worry about it after my career was over.

Kind of along those lines as a Fulham fan I would be annoyed if Hangeland left for Arsenal but I would understand why he would want too. Come to think of it was Hangeland the one highly thought of center back that Man City haven't tried to buy? I guess Hughes doesn't like him as much as some people.

I hear lots of stuff about Babel or Lucas filling in for Alonso...and if that's the case then top 4 will be the BEST we do. Lucas is the WORST Brazilian soccer player ever!!!!

The line up we're going to need is as follows:

    GK: Reina
LB: Insua/Aurelio CB: Carragher CB: Agger/Skrtel RB: Johnson
LM: Riera CM: Mascherano CM: Benayoun RM: Kuyt
    ST: Gerrard ST: Torres

Dirk has never been my favorite player, but I think he hustles and he seems to do better when he has more ground to cover. Sure he can't cross the ball very well, but he can play a through ball pretty good. I think Voronin should be used more as well if we're going to play our outside players (Riera and Kuyt) farther forward than when we had Alonso. I think Benayoun is vital to our success as well as Kuyt and Voronin, those guys have to play at a higher level than ever before if we're going to do anything. Our defense is solid and Gerrard and Torres will be good for planty of goals, but we need guys to feed them AND to add goals when teams mark Steve and Torres closely.

Lucas was a liability last season, although towards the end he started playing well and he is doing well at the pre-season so fingers crossed he will have a good partnership with Mascherano. As long as Gerrard and Torres are fit we will be dangerous.

The players are hypocrites, I respect them moving for the money just say that was the reason and not because the club did not show me the love, or kiss the badge and then piss off next get to another club and start kissing their badge.

I agree Ouma Hangeland to Arsenal is a natural progression, aswell as his bank blance he is advancing his career and playing for a better club, you cant really be critical to someone in that posistion. But like Master said someone lke John Terry is a money grabbing cunt, to even contemplate going to such an inferior club in terms of where there at right now just for financial gain is insane for me considering he is already earning in excess of 120k a week.

Footballers leaving clubs to better there careers you cant really blame them but players like Tevez Adebeyor etc etc All about money and I think that is a shame for the sake of 40/50 k id rather be playing for a club who has better players and are playing better standard of football personally.

Sorry mate but that is short sighted at best.

Number one City players in general are on nowhere near what they are allegedly on according to the players. I know this for a fact. I don't know exactly what they are on but i do know nobody takes home more than 92k per week after tax (Robinho i'm guessing). Gareth Barry is nowhere near the 130k p/w reported in The Sun, Bellamy is nowhere near the 90k p/w as also reported in the media. I know this because it was mentioned at a Supporters club open-forum by Garry Cook ( i was there and heard it myself).

Adebayor has been given a good rise to move and so has Tevez but to say they are moving purely for financial reasons is very narrow minded. Furthermore nearly all footballers get a pay rise when they join a new club. Berbatov, Valencia, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic...need i go on? If everything was all about success then surely these players wouldn't need to practically double (correct me if i'm wrong but i'd guess Valencia, Rooney and Vidic must have come very close) their wages to join such a club? Would they?

Sure we are doing it on a new level but that's what you have to do to be competitive. United have done it, Chelsea have done it and after us there will be another club that does it.

The playing with better players argument is also a little bit silly because at City both tevez and Adebayor will be playing with some very talented players. We certainly have the resources to add to that pool of players and i think we have made our ambitions perfectly clear. We have considerably strengthened whereas only Chelsea arguably haven't been weakened.

By your way of thinking the best players would only ever go to the most successful clubs so that defeats the object of competition. If that happened we might aswell not bother with the Premier League and just have United - Liverpool live on Sky Box Office every week.

    Where's the fun in that?
