Seriously this is one of the major things hurting boxing right now. It is bad enough with all the interim champion, super champion and champion in recess nonsense. I consider myself quite an avid follower of boxing but I do not have a clue who many of these minor champions are? It is disgraceful, they are diluting their titles to the point that they will end up utterly worthless.

I kinda like this honestly, just hand them out for super fights and make them a big deal, like bracelets in poker. Plus, this has a chance to be the coolest looking boxing belt ever.

I've never heard such crap in all my boxing time. The WBC should pick up their catchweight bullshit and drag its ass back off to the room they sat in to think it up.

Hell, I guess with so much emphasis on Pound 4 Pound these days maybe they should just scrap weight divisions altogether and just let it be a damn free for all and fight it out for P4P king title and rankings......

This catchweight shit is for people who are not willing to clean up their own division and seek out a purely money orientated bout. What happened to boxing being classed as a sport, rather than simply a business.

I don't think it's such a bad thing to be honest, mainly it sounds like it's going to be used as a trophy when one of their champions fights someone from a higher division who can't meet the weight limit.

I think it has to be used carefully, for existing champions only and catchweight fights where no other belts are applicable.

One of the funniest and silliest thing ever, I wonder if they will make a ranking of the catch weight contender as well and I REALLY wonder how it'll be done. My biggest question on the matter though is: who is the worst, the suckers who create this non-sense title or those who will pay the sanctioning fees to retain such crap?
