I've never heard such crap in all my boxing time. The WBC should pick up their catchweight bullshit and drag its ass back off to the room they sat in to think it up.

Hell, I guess with so much emphasis on Pound 4 Pound these days maybe they should just scrap weight divisions altogether and just let it be a damn free for all and fight it out for P4P king title and rankings......

This catchweight shit is for people who are not willing to clean up their own division and seek out a purely money orientated bout. What happened to boxing being classed as a sport, rather than simply a business.

I don't think it's such a bad thing to be honest, mainly it sounds like it's going to be used as a trophy when one of their champions fights someone from a higher division who can't meet the weight limit.

I think it has to be used carefully, for existing champions only and catchweight fights where no other belts are applicable.

One of the funniest and silliest thing ever, I wonder if they will make a ranking of the catch weight contender as well and I REALLY wonder how it'll be done. My biggest question on the matter though is: who is the worst, the suckers who create this non-sense title or those who will pay the sanctioning fees to retain such crap?

Pacquiao is the champ at 140 Cotto is the champ at 147.

So the thing is when a champion moves up and its a catchweight since you people complained so much about Cotto's title being on the line. Now you have a belt on the line for when a champion moves up to a catchweight with the other champion. That way neither could lose their title but there is still something to win to show who is better between them. To me it makes a lot of sense especially since all the fans could do was complain that a 147 champ shouldnt put their title on the line in a match where the limit is 145. You fans got something that makes sense and gives you little more to complain about and you bash it. Some fans just don't know what they want. You complain about one thing and then once you get a solution you complain about that.
