Default Who fills the #9 spot at Jr. Flyweight?

We made a mistake in voting in Hernan Marquez into the vacant spot previously, when he was supposed to be for the pool at 115. So once again could we please have your votes on who should fill the vacant #9 position at 108:

    Juanito Rubillar
    Munetsugu Kayo
    Adrian Hernandez
    Brahim Asloum
    Edren Dapudong
    Rodel Mayol

My vote once again is for Mayol

I refuse to rank someone of the basis of a draw so that leaves out Mayol (who hasn't had a meaningful win in three years by the way) and Kayo who hasn't had a win yet this year.

Adrian Hernandez, hasn't fought someone worth putting him into the pool and has been flirting with flyweight.

Brahim Asloum had a good victory over humberto pool, but that was at flyweight and was his first fight since 2007.

Edren Dadupong had a good win over Bert Batawang, but if Batawang would have won, I certainly wouldn't have ranked him based on the victory.

Rubillar is a pretty safe bet to say he's done.

Based on this I vote for Dapudong, also based on this I will be voting to leave the number 10 spot vacant in the future, fighters need to earn these ranks.

I was well aware Marquez was bypassing the pool and into the rankings. There was no mistake. That was the intention. I didn't know it wasn't allowed. So be it. I say leave it vacant

For me its more the fact that he didn't lose to our #1 guy, but I see where your coming from. The rematch looks set... unfortunately Calderon's gonna school him!

It is allowed for a fighter to bypass the pool, but Marquez has never fought at 108. The Esquer fight was at 115. We have moved him into the pool at 115. The mistake was voting on a guy who had never fought at that weight...

It says right in our rules though "Draws will have no effect on the rankings"

The Calderon draw didn't have any effect on our ratings! Except to move Mayol into the pool (remember also that Latimore entered the pool at 154 on a loss). There is a vacancy in which we are voting on Mayol is in the pool & I'm basing my vote on his last performance, won, lost or drawn...

The more I dig down on this look at Mayols record of late

We know about the Draw against Calderon, stopped early because of three headbutts.

The fight before that, same story but he won a majority technical decision against Ardin Diale who had a record of 5-1-1.

Before that Suchanya 5-7 where he won by TKO, a man that has yet to beat anyone with any prior pro fights, and most of his wins were against guys that retired after that one fight.

Both fights before that he was stopped by good competition in Hernandez and Solis.

Before that he blasted out Masatugu Okada who until that point hadn't won in three years, and continued to lose to mediocre competition for a few years after that until he retired.

Before that, he lost to who I thought at the time was the man at minimum weight Eagle Kyowa.

There is nothing in there that merits being ranked in the top 10 and that's going back three years. If he had a draw against Calderon but before that he was on some kind of run against opponents worth mentioning you may have a case, but it is a joke to rank someone with his recent track record. It's funny too that even on his biography on Boxrec they are making excuses.......

"After a year of inactivity he had to bolt out from his manager and find ways to fight because he has a family to feed. Then came Canadian match maker Michael Koncz who gave him a title shot in an under card for the Morales- Diaz match in Chicago.
Once again Mayol proved to everyone that he can mix it up with the champion banging him and almost decking the champ. But he was caught with a picture perfect left hook which sent him to the canvas for the count. It was a very frustrating loss for Mayol. What people didn't know was that Mayol had to undergo hell before that match. First, he had no sparring partner. He only sparred with Filipino Mercidito Gesta which is too much for a 108lb fighter like Mayol (Gesta is 133 lbs). Second is they were basically abandoned by his Japanese Manager. Koncz was just a matchmaker so they basically had look out for their own training. Homer Sayson a famous columnist said that sometimes they only ate once a day and they had to walk from their apartment to the gym. In the end, Mayol was malnourished and was not in good shape when he fought Solis. With the loss, the Philippine Boxing Media basically wrote him off until Manny Pacquiao came to his rescue and bought his contract from his Japanese Manager.
