The only fighter other than Machida that would have a chance of beating Silva would have to be GSP. Silva does not like getting taken down even though his ground game is reasonably good, I think that is his weakest area. GSP can take down the best.
Who in the UFC would you match with Anderson Silva?.
Anderson Silva is having the same problem in MMA now as Roy Jones had in boxing in the late 90s, there is no-one out there left to beat and the only way to keep getting recognition is to move into deeper water, Jones moved to heavyweight and now Anderson is talking about boxing an elite boxer.

As for GSP vs Anderson, GSP may well be better p4p than anderson but the size deiffernce would be too much IMO

I think Anderson is clearly more willing to face the best fighters whilst in his prime than Roy was. Not saying Roy was scared, but I guess in boxing a top boxer has more say in who he fights, and the purses he can command so politically the best matchups didn't happen.

Anderson however still has a bunch of top class opposition to face. He should stay at 205, showdowns with Rampage Jackson and Lyoto Machida would be huge, Tito is back and that would be a good card.

He could possibly even move to heavyweight to the fight the likes of Coutoure and Nogeria.

Lesnar is probably a step too far but when you consider little BJ Penn has competed as high as heavyweight (along with Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva) there is no excuse for Anderson not to push himself at least against the best at 205.

Him and Machida would be awesome, not a casual fan's fight, it would likely be cat and mouse with all feints and and maneouvers but for a purist and technical fan it would be great.
