Seems like Pavlik is having a lot of injuries, didn't the same thing happen with his supposedly upcoming fight with Mora that eventually got scrapped?

For some reason I just have a gut feeling that this fight will be scrapped too.

Again the general consensus seems to be Pavlik is far from a professional these days.

He needs to get his shit together. I wish Williams waited the extra month, Kelly seems to be ther efor the taking with all of his out of ring BS

Marley has a point Michael Marley'�s Boxing Confidential� News, Analysis, and Commentary, Pavlik needs to get out of Youngstown and spend a few months training somewhere else. Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt in the recent media accusations against him, it is fair to say that he has only fought once in the last year and has not appeared to be the hardworking professional he once claimed to be. He should take a few months and train in Vegas or Big Bear. Anything less than training one hundred percent against Pwill spells disaster...and even that may not be enough.

I kind of wonder whether Goosen ever really liked this fight. Seemed obstinate as hell in negotiations, almost caused them to break down completely and now seems in a gigantic hurry to move on.

That's not to excuse Kelly who's been acting erratic as hell lately.

It hasn't been that long. Pavlik fought Rubio in the beginning of the year. Hopkins, the man who beat Pavlik and who occupies the #3 spot on ESPN's p4p list, hasn't fought since October and has nothing scheduled for the near future. David Haye has fought even less over the last year and legitimately backed out of two title fights.

With the super six tournament tieing up a bunch of potential fights and HBO not willing to spend much on a fight with Sturm, who will Pavlik fight if he can't fight Pwill? Pavlik needs to get out of Youngstown.

First off, it would not surprise me at all if there is some truth to the rumors that Pavlik is out of shape and using the infection as an excuse to postpone the fight and buy himself time. And if that's the case, he should have been straight up during the negotiations and said that he couldn't do Oct. 3.

And I can understand 100% why Williams would be pissed. But Williams needs to realize that he can make more money fighting Pavlik than anyone else, and if he beats Pavlik, he'll have a huge win on his resume and he'll be the middleweight champion of the world to boot. He can wait an extra 6-8 weeks to get that chance.

i was more hyped for this fight than any other for the rest of the year. and now it will probably never happen
