Win Over Tarver : Comes Up at 40 years old and does something the great Sugar Ray Robinson was UNABLE to accomplish
Pavlik : at 44 beats a young UNDEFEATED champion known for his KO Power

Jones: I disagree when you say it was prime vs prime I think for the 2 in this particular case it would be a 25 or so Jones against a 34 or so Hopkins
Taylor : Jermain had Bernard's # or so the judges thought, close entertaing fights But Jermain was able to sort of solve Bernard which is almost impossible to do. Jermain is to Bernard sort of how Vernon was to Shane.
Calzaghe: At 43 lose a controversial decision an UNDEFEATED 36 year old who has ruled his division for a decade and had annihlated the highly regarded Mikkell Kessler and one time highly regarded Jeff Lacy.

As for being dirty and whining sure he can be annoying and his antics at times are crazy (PR Flag, I'll never lose to a white boy). You can't underestimate his greatness.

Can we say LUCKY punch? he was getting worked.

Forrest could whoop anyone's ass almost. Jermaine may just be known down the road as the man who could only beat one man.

Yes, he LOST the decision. If he didn't hug the last 4 rounds and fake all those low blows, we could have actually had a fight on our hands. But he just wanted to make it out of the fight.

He is a neat boxer... sort of. But not P4P #1 by any means at all. One win over a MW at a catchweight does not merit this status. Dawson win KO him, Tarvoris Cloud will KO him, Kessler, Glen Johnson, Abraham, all guys who would beat him today..
The first part of this (the yellow part) has to be a wind up right?

Bernrd hsould be rated higher than RJJ because of his longevity at the highest level of the sport Roy's climax was higher than Bernard's but Bernard's time spent at the elite level of the sport is not even comparable to RJJs

WTF? Highest level? Are you serious? Time spent doesn't count all the time sitting around doing nothing. Jones wasn't named fighter of the decade because he had one or two fights, not too mention that reign lasted till 2003. Bernard's MW reign was courtesy of RJJ leaving the division. Jones carrer competition is better than bernards. RJJ dominated more impressively, and longer.

And since everyone likes to all of sudden forget to apply certain filters to bhop as they do with RJJ...

Most will say RJJ was weight drained in the first tarver fight (the one roy managed to win) but forget that Tarver was weight drained when HOP beat him, i mean tarver isnt on bhops level, but he was basically a walking heavybag in that fight with bitch tits.

RJJ's competition isnt up to snuff only because he dominated so thoroughly. But bhops is better because his fights were closer? not to mention being dropped twice against mercado the first fight he clearly lost, but was given a draw.

Bernard beat two arguably 4 HOF fighters, (Tito, Oscar, then maybe winky and jackson) Only tito compares to James Toney and thats a stretch.

Jones beat six, PAZ, Macallum, HOP, TONEY, HILL, Tito, and maybe even 7 if you count reggie johnson.

Bhop padded that 20 defenses against a who's who of nobodies. But Roy gets slammed from all angles because he stood his ground as p4p number 1 in world and demanded that the Europeans fight in the states. Roy was the draw against nearly anyone he'd have faced therefore giving him the lion share when negotiating.

I mean don't get me wrong, bhop is one of the best ever, but if Roy gets slammed for his career path, put under the same microscope bhop would come out far less than RJJ IMO...

first time to see that, blurry vision set in with quickness after the first part.

At least those are possibilities (well probably not the KO part), he is 45 and there are some good fighters there.

Off the top I'd say Jones faced the better comp...and I also think Hopkins is an all around better fighter. Its been said that Hopkins was prime when they fought, umm no.An obscure and still somewhat raw Hopkins was brought in for Jones who was being well groomed by HBO as the new best thing since sliced bread. That was no schooling but 15 (?)years ago Jones won the fight.Solid win.Look at where they are today? Both are impaired with enormous egos that have cost them inside and outside of the ring....Jones outside the ring by over pricing himself with god-think and avoiding some big matches and Hopkins taking status for granted inside of the ropes, not putting a punctuation point in a few big moments, Taylor fight comes to mind.Taylor was ready and teetering to be KTFO in the late rounds but Hopkins was too busy patting himself on the back.

To the point w respect,Anyone who thinks Hopkins is overrated as a fighter should stop counting the numbers, worrying about p4p hocus pocus,HOF name dropping and watch more fighters fight, how they do what they do and read less record sheets. And dont fast forward. Not the biggest of business men and was stymied early with Butch Lewis. But the man cleaned out his respected division, won Kings Middle tourney capped off with TKO over Tito when very few gave him a shot in reality.Go back to all of that build up and talk....Hopkins was almost made to be an afterthought as The press and Jones jr were clamoring for a Tito vs. Jones jr fight.Whoops.One of the top ring generals and technicians over the last couple of decades. You can slice and dice any fighters record to fit an agenda or to cushion ones personal opinion but you have to appreciate a great thinking fighter and when you see one.
