For fantasy football purposes i'm hoping Kuyt scores all 5.
City are about to sign Sylvinho on a free transfer / 1 year deal after Barca released him. Good experience, a buddy for Robinho and decent cover in case anything happens to Bridge.
Fee for Lescott is £20m rising to £22m and not the £24m as advertised in the press. Still far too much, although it is likely to be announced as an undisclosed fee. Passed his actual medical yesterday, just has a 2nd part to go through relating to his knee injury that occured a good few years back. Should have signed by tonight or tomorrow latest...like i said on Saturday.
On a side note i notice Sky Sports have changed Kolo Toure's fee from £16m to £14m. They always try to sensationalize stuff. Glad the club has put em right on this one.

Had to laugh at this though. David Moyes slowly going mad...
"We are not having it for any of them. I won't have it - the chairman knows that and I have made it clear. We are not a selling football club - unless it is someone I want to let go" - David Moyes, January 25.
"There is bound to be some interest in some of our players because we are competing at the top level. But there is no desire to sell here, we don't need to sell and we don't want to. And a lot of players will admit that not only have they been good for Everton, but the club has been good for them.
"We want to keep the base we have, some of the players we have now, to replace them would cost £15-£20million, and so why would we do that, with no guarantee that we could find better?
"We want to add to this squad and I can assure you that no one we want to keep will leave" - David Moyes, April 25.
"I have already said there will be no players sold at Everton and I do not feel I need to say any more. The board have never sold a player from me, it will only be at my discretion. I said it at the end of the season and I do not need to say any more" - David Moyes, July 16.
"You heard what he (Moyes) said and he said it right at the start of the summer - 'none of my players are going' and I think all of this speculation doesn't do anyone any favours. David Moyes, and only David Moyes I promise you, will make the decisions on the playing staff at this football club. He said, and he means it, nobody is for sale" - Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, July 16.
"As a club, we have publicly stated - as recently as Wednesday night - that we do not intend selling any players" - Everton chief executive Robert Elstone, July 17.
"The crowd know and understand that what we are doing here is right and we have been very consistent and we have said that Joleon Lescott won't be sold. There's not much point me elaborating on that because I have been consistent - he's not for sale" - David Moyes, August 8.
"I have said all along that I have no intention of selling my best players. Joleon is simply not for sale" - David Moyes, August 12.
"Joleon is a massive player for us, we think so much of him and do not want to lose him" - David Moyes, August 14.
"I have said often enough that Everton are not selling" - David Moyes, August 15

Lescott did have a nasty to his knee, I think it was reconstructed by the US doctor who does Beckham and others knees.

Voronin is ok, he needs playing time....what was that everyone was saying about Keane "strikers need regular playing time to be at their best". AV just needs some time...would have been nice to play him against some lower teir teams like oooooh I don't know Stoke. In the long run he's not the only answer for the squad's troubles but he can help and he's cheaper than anyone else.
Rafa had a short time and short funds to put this squad into shape where they could contend for the title.

Mate what games have you been watching?? Voronin is fucking wank, Robbie Keane is a proven world class goalscorer who has scored goals for top teams including a spell at Inter Milan and has the most goals ever for the Republic of Ireland, Voronin isnt good enough to clean Keanes boots.
If you really think Voronin is good enough for a team like Liverpool god help you.
Heres a few stats for you Lyle to prove my point about Keane compared to Voronin.
Keane
Club Appearances 389 Goals 142
International Appearances 91 Goals 39
Total 480 / 181 Goal every 2.6 games
Voronin
Club Appearances 235 Goals 83
International Appearances 57 Goals 6
Total 292 / 89 Goal every 3.2 games
I think the International record of Voronin proves he is shite!!!
First off Ireland soccer just plain sucks...I am allowed to say that and I'm American so that's how far down the totem pole those guys have fallen off.
FOR Liverpool
2008 Robbie Keane 19 games 5 goals
2007 Andriy Voronin 20 games 5 goals
That's even steven buddy...and for those people who complained about Keane not getting PT well since when has Voronin gotten regular PT at Liverpool? We have him, he's decent we might as well use him. Right now we have to play with what we have and for some people it might suck a whole hell of a lot but for now give AV a shot see how he does and if he's not able to carry his weight then ship him off to Germany (where he did very well BTW 20 games 11 goals, I know the class isn't the same but still) and let Pacheco get tested a bit. He's a young kid and needs seasoning if we've got a lost season then let Pacheco get some reps and see if he's quality yet.
I can tell you one thing Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel aren't the answer at the other striker and neither is Gerrard, why the hell we would put our best box to box player waaaaay up front is beyond me.
Our issues don't stem from Striker, they are from midfield where NOBODY controls the ball, and nobody makes their passes. A midfield of Benayoun, Gerrard, Mascherano, and Riera is the best hope we have to win and to do that then we need someone else to play upfront with Torres other than Gerrard.
Not that I am saying he's the problem or anything but who does Torres really play well with, to be honest the only answer I come up with is Peter Crouch. Keane didn't match with him, Kuyt did ok I guess, hell even David Villa doesn't mesh with Torres' game...when they played together for Spain Torres never scored and when Villa got subbed off for Torres scored his only goal without Villa on the pitch. I think Torres is just tricky to plan an attack around.
