Throughout 2008, I struggled with severe elbow problems. To this day I do not know what it really was. But I figured out how to fix both it and a few other injuries I've had along the way.

First step - rest. You must relax that particular area or please expect no gains in recovery. Use the RICE protocol to facilitate healing.

Second step - regain. The name of the game is SLOW. Once everything feels good start with a pathetically low weight at a pathetically low rep range. On a daily basis increase (slowly) both your weight and your reps. Make sure there is no pain during and after. Eventually you will get back to normal.

With this protocol I've been able to heal several rather major injuries without a doctor's help (I've tried but most often I know more than them!). Whatever you do, don't train through the pain!!!
