I would rate him as the second best of his generation as far as the heavyweights are concerned, just behind Lewis.
Lewis had his share of inconsistent moments.

Holyfield who I thought actually won the first fight
dude, what fight were you watching? lol
That was perhaps one of the worst decisions i have ever seen in a heavyweight title fight, Holyfield easily lost the fight hands down.
And the one of the judges gave it a draw due to politics
A case could be made of Evander winning the second one though, he was alot better and wasn't obssesed with his prediction (like their first encounter) that he would knock Lewis out in the 3rd round.

I stand corrected I had the fights back ass wards ! Yeah Evander won the 2nd fight in my opinion.. Lewis won the 1st fight which was deemed and unjustified draw. Thanks for the correction .

Whatever with this debate....Entertainment value is subjective, plus you can interpret peoples careers and accompolishments anyway you want...I loved watching Evander he was an inspirational fighter and the best of his time he didnt try to pad his championship like many have done he could have fought a lot of scrubs to give himself a better championship record but he didnt he is 1 of the top 5 Heavies of all time...Period!!!!

Many Sports writers and Boxing Historians will agree with that.

Audley Harrison for sure... and people also spoke of Lacy as if he was gonna rip Calzaghe in half, which clearly didn't happen.. although I wouldn't call him over hyped just yet as I'm sure theres still more to come from him

I don't think Naseem Hamed was over hyped.. I mean he held 3 of the 4 major titles at the same time and would of held all 4 if Vazquez never vacated his WBA title after the previous fight, 15 defences of his WBO belt..Stopping 19 opponents in a row..thats not over hyped, the only overhyping of Naseem Hamed was what came out of his own mouth at times, sure he lost to Barrera, but Barrera's a legend of the division.. because he lost to an all time great doesn't make him overhyped

The most overrated fighter will always be Mr. Crip Walk himself Zab Judah.
