I've heard some really mixed reviews...Some friends of mine thought it was terrible....Think I will be renting this one.

Van, it is one of those movies that if you read too many positive reviews it will likely be a let down. And likewise the other way around. I got the right balance I think. I heard about all the flaws in it after the initial "how great it was', plot holes etc. I found it very good. As far as sci-fi movies go, I consider myself a bit of a snob and there are few I can appreciate. But if a person can get their heads around simple things like why is this happening in a 3rd world undeveloped country with no oversight of superpowers or current technology, then it is an interesting film. It tends to border more on a social commentary then anything.

No it's nothing like Cloverfield. It was a good movie, I liked it. I never see movies in theaters, I buy lots of DVDs but rarely do I ever see a movie in theaters. The last was Role Models and before that was the last Friday 13th.

I liked the movie enough, it was definitely worth seeing in theaters. The movie I would most compare it to is Children Of Men. Children of Men is one of my favorite movies of all time, this was very much the same setup, just thrust into a complete alternate reality where something crazy has happened and they made two very similar worlds. It was good, the lead character was a bit weak and had very little chemistry with all except
