apparently Kermit Cintron is gonna fight Carlos Quintana here in PR in October, should be a decent fight

The're fighting separate opponents on the same card. They have the same promoter. It is unlikely that he would ever have them fight each-other.

Interesting fight. I think Quintana can outbox Cintron, but I also think Cintron can knock him out. I think Cintron takes this one.

    from Dan Rafael of ESPN.COM

    • Former welterweight titleholders Kermit Cintron and Carlos Quintana, both angling for major fights at either welterweight or junior middleweight, will stay busy in separate bouts Oct. 24 in their native Puerto Rico, promoter Lou DiBella told ESPN.com. "Both guys need to fight, and both guys are in good positions for bigger and better things," DiBella said, adding that the card will be televised in the United States on a delayed basis as part of his syndicated "Broadway Boxing" series. If Quintana wins, he has a tentative Dec. 3 fight on Versus against ex-junior middleweight titlist Verno Phillips.

quintana has been far too inactive in terms of fighting big name fighters since the williams loss

The guy beat a potential hall of famer, he should be in and around world titles for years to come not selling out halls in the middle of nowhere.

Id love to of seen HBO take up these 2 fighting eachother as it would of made for quite a close contest.

i agree, but IMO if he steps up the level of competition as he is probably gonna do by taking on Phillips, who although not at his best, is a decent step back up in level of competition, I personally think Quintana is the better fighter, but like Judah, he's completely inconsistent, he looked awesome against Julio, then folded against Cotto (even though Cotto played a big part in this, i think Quintana basically got stage fright and lost horribly), then he looked yet again awesome and seemed ready to step it back up after the upset win against Williams only to again crumble in the rematch, i dunno if it's something about fighting in front of that type of crowd, or the pressure of the big fight, but honestly the talent is there to make plenty of noise

if they fight next year and Quintana is focused, i'd pick him to beat Cintron quite handily, another good fight at 147 would be a southpaw showdown between Quintana and Collazo

That sounds like an interesting bout. If Quintana has another "offday" he will get destroyed by Collazo.

no doubt, especially since Collazo (who's power is really underrated) has been putting more pop in his punches since the Berto bout

I will take Quintana on points if they ever do fight, in a performance similar to "El Indio's" victory over Julio. I am so down on Cintron. What a headcase.

Intriguing fight, Shield is a very very good trainer for Cintron I think, the chemistry between the two seems to be absolutely fantastic, I trust Cintron to arrive fully loaded in the ring and he has to win because Quintana might be one of his last "lucky stone" to catapult him somewhere close to a championship match.

Like Lance posted I'd heard Quintana was aiming for Verno Phillips, which is another interesting match-up imo, Quintana would be my pick but Phillips is a tough vet whose always dangerous

In a Quintana/ Cintron I'd slightly favor Quintana over the distance, but Cintrons power would always be the equalizer

If they faced off it would be a nice mesh of styles and career check.Don't think both would be able to be 'the boxer' and Cintron would have play the comer. He looked good with a game plan vs Angulo but well...thats Angulo. He'd have to press and I'm not sold on his mental make up.Martinez won twice in one fight...boxed and moved on him all not.I think Quintana can duplicate it big time.
