It really helped Amir Khan who was ko'ed before training with Pacman. IMO its better to get your shit kicked in sparring than in a real fight, your trainer and people can be more cautious, and pull you out sooner, and you get practice with one of the top guys in the sport without risking the embarrassment of the media. I like the fact they are using Shawn Porter, he seems like a decent talent.
Nothing can beat quality time in the ring/camp with one of the best fighters going today.Definite benefits but Antillon has sparred in the past with Pacquiao, prior to the Acosta fight also. For me...Antillon is a full blown top flight contender in need of adjustments and I'm not entirely sure of how much he will learn serving under spar mate limitations that are geared at making one fighter shine and one serve a role or take a 'shit kicking'.

I think Shawn Porter is a spectacular sparring partner. He is a bigger Cotto. a 5'7" middleweight who kind comes in like Tyson. He hits really hard and fast and goes to the body well so if Pac can hold his own with Porter he should be well enough prepared for anything Cotto can come with.
