That's true and certainly there has to be some responsibility exercised by Kirkland, but I'm glad that ODLH is going to speak for him. De La Hoya has put his neck on the line for Kirkland, any corporate run pro sports franchise would have cut bait a long time ago. He's 25, I hope he doesn't get 3 years or you could essentially forget about his career.
Say what you want, but boxing was most likely the best thing Kirkland had and I'll assume it's what he's best at. After he gets out of prison that will have been taken away from him for to long to pick up the pieces and make another run.
It's a sad case, say what you want about him being a thug, but if there is a way to turn his life around it will likely be with boxing. Oh well, hopefully he can make good for himself.
