I think Calderon was winning this one convincingly enough, and the clash of styles makes it somewhat ugly to watch. So, I don't care too much about a rematch. The heads must have clashed about 10 times over several rounds. Mayol was only managing to land occasionally here and there and Calderon looked better than last time out.
No more rematches, time for some new meat. Though if Mayol can win a couple of fights and force Calderon into another fight a year or so down the line then why not. Calderon would have to start slowing down sometime.
But for the time being, I have had my fill of this pairing.

Yes, I am serious. Normally fighters who gets cuts from headbutts are of similar size as their opponents, like Cotto-Clottey & Bradley-Campbell for two recent examples. Unless Calderon is jumping up off the ground, can you explain how Mayol's head is coming into contact with that of a man 5 inches shorter than him?
You don't see the Klitschko brothers or Paul Williams clashing heads with significantly shorter opponents. I swear I never thought I'd see the day that the British were overtaken as the most blindly nationalistic 'boxing fans', but amazingly it has happened.

It seems that Calderon cant convincingly win a fight. Ever.
