Toney destroys Greer | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7

    Toney destroys Greer in 2!

Now if Toney can stay busy and fight a couple of more times this year then we will see where he is at. This is a good start, but like in Rahman 2 it only gives us a couple of rounds from Toney. I want to see him in another fight and ASAP and at this kind of weight. Promising, though of course the opponent was nothing special.

I always thought that James Toney didn't meet a luncheon special he didn't like but I guess I was wrong. For the guy that made that observation about the price of Butterfingers, I get protein bars with 32grams per serving that cost less. I gather that things are tough all over.

Great news, now if he can keep it up that would have the division shaking, except the Klits, he could beat them all.

Toney's still the man. Apparently Greer has been one of Vitali's main sparring partners for Arreola and has been putting it on him big time.

Actually none of that is even close to being true.

I felt like i understood a certain part of him, and i think anyone who has read it will understand what i am saying...

but the cunt should never ever be licenced to box again... life is life man, its out right 100% a total fucking cunt, fact. You do what you do to make the most of it, bend the rules if you have too...

Toney didn't bent the rules he out right snapped them, any other sport taking drugs gives you an edge, in boxing you can lay some motherucker to rest, it is that simple.

when you go on the gear, your not giving your sefl an advantagem your risking some motherfuckers life in boxing, u can end this guy... you do it once and get caught you should never be permited to fight again, this prick was caught fucking twice man... i'm all for doing what you gotta do to get the fuck ahead in anything, and whatevere my problem is with toney, no matter what i think about it; how the cunt risked peoples healh by taking roids, i dont really blame him u do what u gotta do... vut the fact he still is able to fight is a discarce man - i think i got to the point i was traying to make? lol am a lil bit drubk
umm the roids test in the Ruiz fight were medicated to heal some tearing he had
The injury he had in the run up to that camp was a tear of his bicep tendon... a very common injury for steroid takers. Connective tissue can't keep up with the muscles.

I guess it's a question of what came first the Egg or the Chicken (or the steroids or the injury ) and my money is on the juice.

Toney looked good. My fight report will be up here in a day or two, you can see the photos of his "new" body.

Greer was a bit of a schlub. He was wearing plain ol' gym shorts, not boxing trunks and the guy didn't eve have a cup on.

Toney's legs looked good he was quick on his feet, but I don't know if he could hang with anyone in the top ten now. He plans on fighting again next month.

At the post fight press conf. Goosen mentioned a possible HW tourny in the WBC for the top contenders and Toney said his goal right now is to win that.

Thanks for that one.looking forward to full view.

Sounds like Toneys realizes that this is in fact 'It' for him.Would like to see him have a go as early as next month,in shape but sounds like he def needs a bigger threat.Dont know about a tournament, might take too much time.

Agreed. I look forward to that too. I really hope Toney stays busy and this year too, another couple of fights before the year is out, just to get rounds under the belt and to see where his stamina is over half a dozen rounds.

I completely disagree here; Steroids can turn you into IVan Fuckin' Drago, I've seen the change with my own eyes and I was staggered; A friend of mine now is manager of a Pro-Gym in Montreal. Now he's completely natural to say so, no steroids or nothing, course he's build like a wall but it looks quite human to say so. Still, before that run, a couple of years ago, he got interested into steroids and make something like 2 cycles with a stuff he injected himself called "DK" or something like that.
Well, in one year, he went from skinny like me to a real monster without training as hard as he does today. He's still big today but REALLY, nothing compared to that stuff he took. We talked a few times about that and he still agrees that steroids can shape you into a monster... with every conseqwuences that can go along with it in the long time of you persist to take such substance for too long.
I'm sorry my man but you don't know the first thing about training if you think you can take steroids or any form of chemical enhancement and work "less" hard to progress.

The whole point of steroids, if educated people do them correctly, is that they allow you to surpass the point where your genetics would otherwise impose a limit.

So for example - (and it's not this simple but to put it into Laymans terms so that you can understand) - John benches 100kg and has been stuck at that plateau for 3 months with no size gains or strength gains and he practices perfect nutrition. He has obviously reached his genetic potential.

He takes steroids and this ends up allowing him to bench 120kg - Hence, more stimulation of muscle fibres and more intense breakdown of them too. This allows John to grow beyond his genetic capacity.

So your friend who took "DK" (donkey kong? wtf? Not even a steroid) and got massive without training as hard has just defied human nature. So there are really 3 outcomes - either you're bullshitting, he's bullshitting or he has the most amazing genetics known to man. The truth usually sits somewhere in the middle (he's bullshitting)

Again, I'd urge you to research for yourself and make up your own mind. One thing I will say is that some people DO respond better to chemical enhancement than others but you're not going to surpass your genetic potential by training LESS intensely. The whole point is that they allow you to train MORE intensely.

Those ethopians as well should all be banned from endurance events dam it...damn cheaters have more slow twitch muscle fibres and higher hematocrit than other people - Ban them!! We need a level playing field!!
Well you are right about the steroids - you can't train less intensely, as you say they simply allow you to train more intensely. But this is still cheating. It has the same end result. If you take steroids and train hard you will get bigger and stronger than if you hadn't taken the steroids. This is cheating.

You are missing the point though making the comments that people have natural variations and sarcastically calling for them to be banned. The point is they are natural variations, and that is what sport is about - testing peoples natural attributes against other peoples natural attributes. We watch to see who's natural attributes will prevail.

And now Toney weights 67 pounds more than me.. and he's 3 inches taller... definitely fat ass, still!

But I still like him. I think he didn't take Fres Oquendo seriously. Everybody will be watching his next fight 4 sure. He should fight a Chazz Witherspoon, Michael Grant, type of fighter right now then get a shot at Chambers, Arreola, or Haye.

Aside: Anyone figure out how Haye is ranked #3 as a heavyweight right now? I know there are 100 posts abotu this, but for some reason I woke up today and it bothered me.

He needs to stay active and not go missing for 6 months which he cannot afford at his age and weight.

Considering the state of the HW dvision, I'm excited to see Toney at the weight were he belongs. I just love watching him fight that style and NOBODY does it like him. I'm happy just watching him spar. He comes in below 220, he'll beat most of the top 10. I'm not sure how he would deal with a Klitchko, but he can still beat some quality guys (assuming the weight stays off).
