cool guys thanks for the link.
Just watched the weigh-in.....I thought the fight was at 144? Floyd weighed in at 146.![]()

I always heard here and boxing scene that the fight was at 144??, as you stated nothing was said, I was waiting for them to tell Floyd to go lose two lbs but it never came so I guess the fight was contracted at 146?
It was rumored to be 144 but I never heard anything official and they always left people guessing on the actual weight of the fight so who knows.
The links above in the beginning of this thread should start streaming from the archives the actual weigh in again soon so just keep checking back at the links for it if you want to see it.
24/7 first episode said 144, yet there was nothing official said about the weight anywere else so I assumed 144
146! That's what I have on PBF! No wonder he is known as Fraud.![]()

Since they're pretty much about the same thing, I merged the two threads.
Absolutely. I have felt all along that this was the case.
It appears there was a side agreement where if Floyd didn't make 144, a certain portion of the purse would go to Marquez instead of Floyd.
I don't think it's a big deal, to be honest. Floyd's not a big welterweight anyway.
Shocker.Floyd not given a shit about the agreed upon weight.Throw money at the situation and keep pounding your chest ya empty suit. You know what,f!!k him,I hope he gets his ass beat inside out some day and he does not deserve Marquezs scalp on his resume.
I try and I try to like Floyd in addition to his great boxing ability, but he just makes it easy for people to hate on him. The weigh in was a shakedown on Marquez. And some may say "it's only two pounds," but its about more than that. It's about honor! You agree to a weight you should meet it. And if you don't, you should do like all other boxers are forced to: run the pounds off and weigh in again a couple of hours later. This is total bull.
It obviously makes some difference, I get why people are saying it doesn't, cause Floyd's a counterpuncher, not a physical fighter, but he was willing to give up money (and Floyd Mayweather loves money) because he knew he'd be stronger and better at 146, so obviously it makes a difference.
I didn't think he'd have any problem making 144 thoughBecause he's never been big at all at 147, I figured he and Cotto would both be fine. Of course Cotto will probably just come in at 147

Floyd will lose a fraction of his purse for them 2lbs but hey at least when Marquez comes round after being knocked the fuck out he has more money now![]()
I think the "shocked" expressions on their faces was just eagerness to see how much money they were taking from him. Serious, check Marquez, he looks gutted it was only two pounds, one more pound over he'd of got a mill. Unlucky.
Surprised a money obsessed man like Floyd would give up $600,000. I think he's looking for a big KO!!!
