Please. Ali beat EVERYONE. EVERYONE. He beat EVERYONE. There is not one premeir fighter of his era whom he didn't beat so that's BS. He wasn't overrated. I can't stress it enough, in the absolute golden age of the heavyweight era, he beat EVERYONE. Moore, Liston twice, Patterson twive, Chuvalo twice, Terrell, Bonavena, Quarry twice, Foster, Frazier twice, Foreman, Lyle, Norton twice, Wepner, Mathis; the list is absolutely mind boggling. It really is. Maybe you hate his icon status but a lot of that has to do with him outside the ring. He and SRR are a toss up for 1,2 at best P4P all time imo. And I know that P4P was designed to take heavyweights out of the equation, but skill and opponents he ranks up with the best of them.Originally Posted by TheDukeof74

You can't hold that against Ali, besides, a good portion of the talk about him stems from his out of the ring actions and politics. It's so easy to call someone who is talked about constantly overrated, but there are certain cases where it just doesn't apply. With Ali, it just doesn't apply imo.
