He needs to have the ring cut down around him and cornered with a someone like Mosely.Manny has a really good chance of cornering Mayweather but he lacks in height.Get mosely in there and let him go toe to toe with him.![]()

not for me
for all mosleys attributes (excellent hand speed, footwork, precise punching) he lacks that ability to tie and opponent up which you would need to beat floyd.
floyds main neccesity which still to this day nobody has managed to cope with is that stinging left hook he lunges in with to devestating effect. Only possible way to take that out of the equasion requires both physical strength (something marquez just lacked saturday) to get him into the ropes whenever possible and cutting off his space, and excellent footwork.
Pacquiao would just get eaten up by a far heavier puncher. Pacquiao doesnt have that hattonesque ability to manouvere his opponent around a ring and he would simply stand and trade with floyd which would lead to an endless array of stinging left jabs and potshots!
A prime cotto would of had the best chance. Not the guy that almost lost to clottey and looked ring rusty but the cotto that came into a 147 fight weighing 160+ the night of the fight. He has both the physical ability to cut floyds space off and the technique to get in and out.
one dangerous horrible bloke
I've got the De la Hoya vs Mayweather fight on DVD and have watched it countless times. Sometimes Oscar caught Floyd in a position in the ring where he didn't want to be but I'm not sure if it was due to Oscar's footwork or whether it was Floyd's cockiness. I remember Oscar once repeatingly landing left jabs to Floyd's left shoulder and pushing him back in a straight line against the ropes and landing a glancing straight right but the whole time Floyd was smiling and appeared to be clowning around. I don't know how everyone else feels but I was more impressed by Hatton's early efforts in getting Mayweather in a position he didn't want to be. However he didn't have enough combination handspeed. I think Floyd will be beaten by a guy who doesn't land more punches than him but just impresses the judges with sheer volume thrown. I agree with Duran beating Floyd. I think it would look alot like the first fight with Leonard except Floyd would get alot more flustered.
I thought hatton did quite well against mayweather until the ref made that terrible point deduction. He clocked floyd with a hard right that's why floyd stuck his head through the ropes and hatton hit him in the back of the head. Hatton went all to hell after that point deduction. I guess it was desperation after that and he got too reckless.
