than i think Pac did get hurt ((if only for a second)) against Hatton and Cotto hits alot harder than Hatton, so if he catches him its game over.

its gonna be a fantastic well matched fight this one and i can't wait.

as for Mayweather he done great against the old small Marquez over the weekend but didn't answer much for me apart from the fact he outboxed a guy who outboxed Pac.

all in all at this point in time its looking very good for Mayweather as i sadly can't see anyone beating him.
You need to watch the fight again. Pacquiao was off balance. I'm a big Hatton fan but he never hurt Manny once.

I'd feel less uneasy if there wasn't all the hassle about the weight....maybe Cotto will pull a Floyd and ignore the contracted weight limit. Didn't seem to adversly affect him.

It all depends on how much speed pac has. If he has more speed than cotto, i'll give him a chance to win, but if cotto has more speed cotto will take it for sure.

I agree that Pacquiao has never faced anybody as good as Cotto but Cotto has never faced anyone as good as Pacquiao. This fight will be an offensive explosion, both guys can fire bombs. In the end Pacquiao's movement and solid chin will win the night. I love Cotto but im not sure about his chin (not taking the Margarito fight into account).

I'd say that Cotto having faced Mosely at welter has faced someone as good as Pac. I wouldnt say Pacs chin is any better than Cottos either when u consider the guys Cotto has been facing punch far harder than anyone Pac has faced. Cotto's chin will be fine it whether he can handle Pacs speed that will be his problem. As Pacs main problem will be whether he can take Cottos shots.

I'm with you Saddo. After watching the PBF - MArquez fight, I could no longer imagine pacquiao winning over Cotto. Thank you for reminding us that Pac is a GREAT fighter coz my confidence is slowly coming back. Thank you for reminding us that Pac is not Marquez.

As to how will Pac handle the punches of Cotto, I'm confident that Pac will be able to carry it. So the speed factor is back again and Pac's chances is increasing IMO.

Pacquiao is going to beat Cotto and it's going to be one sided. Sorry to say but it is I've said this many times. Pacquiao is not the fighter Cotto needs to fight right now. Cotto is mentally still broken from the Margarito fight and any confidence he may have gained in thinking he was only dented was because of the gloves was quickly taken out of him in the Clottey fight as he found himself getting busted up in the same way but with no glove excuse. Cotto did just enough in the last part of that fight and it was more Clottey taking his foot off the gas then Cotto getting him off of him. Pacquiao won't take his foot off the gas and Cotto's self doubt will creep back in his mind if Pacquiao isn't gone in 4 rounds. Cotto is done, once Pacquiao starts hurting him he will fall apart again and Pacquiao won't let up on the gas he will finish him. Cotto is a good fighter but he isn't what he needs to be to beat someone like Pacquiao anymore.

For Cotto to win, it will depend on a few factors. This is his first big fight since the Margarito bout. Did that brutal battle take something out of him or is he mentally ready for another huge fight? Physically, he will forced to come in at 145. While this may not seem like a dramatic difference from 147...you never know how a fighter will deal with, energy wise, losing a few pounds. Cotto also has a young, inexperienced trainer in his corner...you almost get the sense that he is coaching himself for this fight. This point leads to he biggest factor: strategy. Cotto is by no means slow...his speed is in fact underrated. But Pac is clearly faster and most likely will have better stamina. So Cotto needs to fight a controlled and intelligent fight. If he goes in simply trying to chase Pac down, pin him against the ropes, and hope to overpower him...he will lose...and maybe lose badly. Pac, for all his improvements, still lunges in on his punches/flurries. Marquez laid out the blueprint on what needs to be done against Manny...you need to be an effective counter puncher. Cotto needs to use his terrific jab to draw Manny in and counter him. If he does this effectively...he can set up for the power shots as the fight progresses. Hopefully it will be great fight.

Many people predicted Hatton would be to much for Pacquiao.. Not just brits or Hatton fans.. But Hatton looked like total garbage in that fight.. No head movement, no strategy, no patience, no trainer (basically)...

Rest assured Cotto is going to bring a hell of a lot more into those ropes than Hatton did..
